FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events - All shifts completed a rescue drill on Robinson Drive with the Training Division as well as building familiarization for the Premier Lofts development at the Town at Trilith. Truck 9 displayed the Fayette County High School Tigers flag for the send-off of the boys’ basketball team playing in the state tournament. Firefighter Hollandsworth completed fire training and will begin 24-hour shifts on March 18.

Projects - Chief Alan Jones attended a meeting to discuss City Attorney proposals.

Deputy Chief Linda Black and Captain Joshua Collins assisted the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services with COVID-19 vaccinations. Chief Black assisted with mass COVID-19 vaccinations for Fayette County Board of Education employees. Chief Black attended various webinars throughout the week with DPH officials and various other medical associations regarding COVID-19. Division Chief Keith Harris continued scheduling testing for potential firefighter candidates. Battalion Chief Jeff Gable updated the COVID-19 Incident Action Plan. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) mask and regulators continues.

Tower 91 is out of service for repairs and remains at Ten-8 in Smyrna. Weekly COVID-19 report was completed and sent to the Georgia Department of Public Health. Ordered a replacement washing machine for Station 93 and a replacement ice machine for Station 91.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY ¡ Monday, March 8 - Command Staff met with Finance Director Mike Bush and Senior Accountant Karen Austin regarding 2021 Budget needs. ¡ Tuesday, March 9 - Seen & Heard has started equipment installation on new patrol vehicles; Chief Gray and Officer Branden Zuke gave a department tour for a child and his parents. ¡ Wednesday, March 10 - The Office of Professional Standards (OPS) assisted with COVID-19 vaccinations at the old Fire Station #4; the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) conducted 10 interviews for the open Crime Scene position. ¡ Thursday, March 11 - The Police Department budget meeting was held with the City Manager and the Finance Department; OPS tested a potential candidate for an open position; The Community Activity Resource & Education (CARE) Unit, OPS, and CID taught a class to local Girl Scout Troop #17007 to obtain their Detective Badge. ¡ Friday, March 12 - A promotional invitation was sent to current sergeants for the current lieutenant position opening; division weekly reports were reviewed.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: We began working on the Performance Appraisal portion of the Performance Management System on the ClearCompany platform. We continue to focus on COVID-19 and federal and state requirements as they relate to City employees and on remaining compliant with mandates. We continue to maintain a case spreadsheet of potential pandemic cases involving City employees. We are requesting proper leave forms to be completed by employees that are out of work due to COVID-19 related absences. We continue to review and update various administrative policies for accuracy. We are now conducting a pay study survey for the Police, Fire, and Public Services divisions.

Turn Over Report: There was one new hire and one termination during the period of March 8-14, 2021. There are 15 vacant positions: four in Fire Services, two in Public Services, four in the Police Department, two in Community & Economic Development (one position on hold), two in Municipal Court, and one in Human Resources (on hold).

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Met with Megan Baker of the Fayette County Development Authority and the Brixmor property manager to discuss their proposal for Banks Station enhancements later this year; attended a virtual site visit for placement of the Soofa kiosks; attended the Monday Huddles with the Community & Economic Development Division; began budget planning for Fiscal Year 2022.

Downtown Development Authority/Main Street: Attended the Georgia/ Missouri Main Street virtual workshop on community engagement; continued preparations for the 2021 concerts; met with staff and others at the Melear’s site to discuss underground utility locations; attended an LCI Core Team meeting to review survey findings and discuss key redevelopment areas; reviewed the proposed LCI Study areas for traffic analysis along Grady Avenue; met with a potential renter at the amphitheater to discuss production logistics; met with a structural engineer at 195 Stonewall Avenue to submit a proposal for study/ analysis; met with David, Joyce, and Julie to discuss grand opening event planning; met with staff and a Georgia Department of Transportation inspector to review options for supplemental striping at the Stonewall Avenue road diet location.

PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained the path on Beauregard Boulevard, New Hope Road, South Jeff Davis Drive, Grady Avenue, Bradford Square, Gingercake Road, Brandywine Boulevard, Highway 92 North, Highway 314, Pye Lake, Helen Sams Parkway, Patriot Park, the Police Department, City Hall, Jimmie Mayfield Boulevard, and Dickson Springs Park; repaired a pothole on Jeff Davis Place; completed the trash run on all park locations.

Stormwater: Cleaned the storm gutter in the Fenwyck subdivision to help with flow.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.07 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 0.953 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired two water main breaks; performed maintenance on 26 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
