HOA BOOT CAMP The City held a Homeowners Association Boot Camp on January 18 to educate HOA leaders on how the City can help them and also on responsibilities that belong to HOAs.

Held the weekly meeting with Assistant City Manager Alan Jones; held the weekly staff meeting with the main management team; traveled to Great Wolf Lodge in Lagrange to see the meeting rooms for the City Council Retreat; held a performance appraisal meeting with City Clerk Anne Barksdale.

Held performance appraisal meetings with Human Resources Director Nella Cooper, CFO Mike Bush, Assistant City Manager Alan Jones, and Community Development Director David Rast.

CITY CLERK / DEPUTY CLERK ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Attended Monday staff meeting; met City Manager for job evaluation; met with staff from Great Wolf Lodge about logistics for Council Retreat.

Projects: Prepared for HOA Boot Camp; working on agenda for Council Work Session.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY KELVIN JOINER Work orders: 33 new; 37 closed.

Projects: Continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the New City Hall building; working on new Police RMS system (continued); new Desktops for Court; Zencity implementation.

Meetings: International City/County Management Association Leadership Training; Zencity meeting; Gridics meeting; attended HOA Boot Camp.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Team meeting to review matters regarding forthcoming Meridian on the Square development; met with Fayette County Development Authority to discuss retail consultant visit, and scheduling for City Council updates on economic development matters; conference call with Urban3 to plan content of upcoming presentations.

Main Street: Continued preparation of 2020 Concert Series; prepared for Main Street annual strategic planning meeting; Welcome Center played all Rush music to mourn the loss of legendary drummer Neil Peart; team meeting to review findings of amphitheater facility inspections; met with Main Street board member to discuss urban planning concepts.

Downtown Development Authority: Held Downtown Development Authority annual strategic planning meeting; awarded engineering contract for Stonewall Avenue road diet project.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY Community Engagement: City supported the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade.

Projects: The Police Department attended and presented at the HOA Boot Camp at Fayetteville City Hall.

Training: Two officers are still in the FTO process.

Shanard Rease was convicted of the homicide of Fayetteville resident Mimi Perry and was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events: Participated in HOA Boot Camp meeting on January 18.

Projects: Fire Chief Alan Jones, Deputy Fire Chief Linda Black, Division Chief Keith Harris, and Division Chief Mike Matthews met with David Rhodes to discuss development of upcoming promotional process; continued work to implement Lexipol policies; completed application packet for State Fire Marshal’s Office to deputize Fire Marshal Bill Rieck.

PUBLIC SERVICES CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall, Police Department and Public Services building; trash run; set up tree operations on Hwy. 85; cut and maintained Stonewall Avenue and Hwy. 54 to Tiger Trail; picked up trash on Veterans Parkway; trim limbs on Hwy. 85 to Lafayette Avenue to Hwy. 54; cut sidewalk on Hwy. 85 from Holiday Inn to Lafayette Avenue; repaired playground equipment at Church Street Park; pruned magnolia tree limbs on Hood Avenue; maintained Hwy. 85 & 54 medians; pruned crepe myrtles at the Historic Train Depot.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated is 3.059 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift stations sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 1.281 million gallons of system demand; repaired six water leaks; performed eight water meter maintenance; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

HUMAN RESOURCES NELLA COOPER Personnel: We are continuing with the implementation of the Performance Management and Performance Appraisals platform on ClearCompany. Continuing with Roles setup and goals alignment with job roles. We will begin setting up training for all users in ClearCompany for recruiting, on-boarding, Performance Management, and appraisals.

The premium deductions have been set up in payroll system for Plan Year January 1, 2020.

Turn Over Report: There were no employees hired or terminated during the week of of January 13-19, 2020.
