The furnishings of Carlo Scarpa for the Church of Firenzuola
Edoardo Detti (Florence 1913-1984) and Carlo Scarpa (Venice 1906-Sendai1978), are known in Florence in 1951, in the group wanted by Carlo Lodovico Ragghianti, to arrange the exhibition on Frank Loyd Wright at Palazzo Strozzi. Scarpa is already an established architect, while Detti is known as urbanist. Their friendship, which will last all their lives, concretizes in the collaboration for the reconstruction of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Firenzuola, whose assignment is entrusted to Detti by the Provveditorato to the Public Works of Tuscany in 1955. Three projects will be needed to arrive at final approval in June 1958. There are numerous studies and drawings, mainly Scarpa. The works begin in May 1959. Inside the church there are some furnishings designed by Carlo Scarpa
