RACE PACKAGE 2023

REGISTRATION/TECHNICAL INSPECTION/SHOW N’ SHINE

Registration, Technical Inspection, and the Show N’ Shine will be held at the Misery Mountain Ski Chalet located at 10408 89 St , Peace River, Alberta.

• The Show N’ Shine will take place on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 4pm-8pm

• All boat entry fees are $750CDN per boat.

• Driver & Navigator CBF Memberships - $180 each

• Crew Member CBF - $20 each

• Meal Ticket - $50, kids 10 & under $25

• Registrations are accepted until 8am on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

Please Note: All drivers and navigators must have a valid CBF membership in order to race. All drivers are required to have a boat license, and all new drivers must have an orientation course and driving test.

CLASS SPONSORS

All race boats will be provided sponsor decals. These are removable and we encourage you to proudly show them on your boat. Our sponsors make this event possible.

PRIZE PAYOUTS

The total prize payouts will be determined by the amount of entries, plus class sponsor fee, divided as follows:

1st place: 50% of entries

2nd place: 30% of entries

3rd place: 20% of entries

Glen Freeland Shootout 30k

We want to honour Glen Freeland with the memorial Shoot-out it’s been 10 years since we first did this. This shoot-out will be for circuit races only, the fastest combined times of all three circuits for each class will win $7500 and will still be in the running overall. There needs to be a minimum of three boats in each class to qualify. Be safe, have fun and see you all here.

FRIDAY, JULY, 28, 2023

Show and Shine from 4pm to 8pm at the Misery Mountain Ski Chalet in Peace River, Alberta. This is a family friendly event, families are encouraged to come out to take pictures and meet the racers and crew. Race Weekend Programs will be available at the event and can be signed by the racers and crew.

SATURDAY, JULY 29, 2023

Leg 1

• 10:00am: North Peace River Island Circuit Race (downstream start)

• 6 laps @ 7.5 miles per lap (45 miles total)

The start line will be located at Riverfront Park. The boats will be heading North (downstream), make a left turn around the north Island, then left around the buoy.

SUNDAY, JULY 30, 2023

Leg 3

• 9:00am: Smoky River Upstream

Peace River to Watino

45 Miles

• Boaters race upstream to Watino via the Smoky River from Riverfront Park

Leg 2

• 2:00pm: South Peace River Island Circuit Race (upstream start/downstream finish)

• 6 laps @ 7.5 miles per lap (first lap is only 6 miles) 43.5 miles total

The start line will be located at Riverfront Park. The boats will begin facing South (upstream), the flag will raise and the racers will head South following the West side.

Leg 4

• 1:00pm: Smoky River Downstream

Watino to Peace River

45 Miles

• Boaters race downstream from Watino via the Smoky River to Riverfront Park

Leg 5

• 4:00pm: South Peace River Island Circuit Race (upstream start/ downstream finish)

• 3 laps @ 7.5 per lap 21 miles total

LAUNCH

Racers are only to use the West Peace Boat Launch. Support boats are to use the North End boat launch, both of these will be accessible only to racers and crew. security is provided.

Motors of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boats in A, CX & FX will be subject to a technical inspection immediately following the race.

DO NOT leave before you are cleared by the Race Captain.

PROTESTS

All protests must be accompanied by $500, and must be submitted to the Race Captain. If it is an engine protest, it must be accompanied by $1000. Do not speak to the timers regarding your times or a penalty will result.

RULES

U.I.M. rules for River Marathon Racing will apply as well as the following:

• In order to race, each boat must be equipped with all the items on the attached checklist.

• Boat drivers, navigators and driver of sweep boat must have a valid CBF membership, these will be available for purchase at registration.

• All racers must have their Pleasure Craft Operators’ License.

• All race drivers require CBF medicals. Doctors Medicals are valid for 3 years.

• All boats must start in the 70m staging area.

• HANS DEVICE are mandatory for all racers.

• Motors of the lst ,2nd , & 3rd place boats in each class will be subject to a tech inspection immediately after the last leg of the race, at Bullseye Enterprises (9503 90 Avenue).

• ANY RACERS CAUGHT CHEATING with their engines will have their motor confiscated & sold with proceeds going to charity and racer will be banned for the next 3 races.
