Chapter Eight: The Salt Throne

The ships rode in the distance. Sam cleared the drops of water off the balcony wood. The waters below were getting unsteady. “Tá siad ag teacht” Sam said. Their ship grew closer and closer. It seemed as if it couldn’t get any closer, but it was still a good amount of space away. “Cad a dhéanaimid?!” A crew member screamed. “Níl a fhio agam!” Sam replied. “Well! Caithfimid rud éigin a dhéanamh!” “Tá fhios agam” Sam said back. He was lying. He didn’t know, he thought if they did nothing, everything would be fine. Sam believed in the theory that trying makes things worse. How do we know when to give up? And, is giving up always bad? Who knows? Who can give a sure and definite answer?
