Community-Based Testing Sites (CBTS)

NOTICE States and the private sector have teamed up with the federal government to provide Community-Based Testing Sites to Americans who need it the most. The CBTS is a tool for states, local public health agencies, and healthcare systems to use as they work together to stop the spread of COVID-19 in their communities.

Criteria In order for a testing site to qualify as a CBTS, it must: 1. Receive supplies from the federal government. 2. Ensure there is at least one United States Public Health Service (USPHS) officer at each site. 3. Follow the lab ordering, sampling, and packaging process established by the federal government. 4. Contact the shipping company chosen by the federal government to pick up and deliver samples to the lab company selected by the federal government. 5. Use the federally contracted call center that will contact individuals with their results.

Healthcare facility workers with symptoms Hospitalized patients

WITH SYMPTOMS:

Healthcare facility workers and first responders Critical infrastructure workers with symptoms Individuals with symptoms who do not meet priority 1 and 2 criteria Individuals with mild symptoms in communities experiencing high numbers of COVID-19 hospitalizations

First responders Patients in long-term care facilities Patients over age 65 years Patients with underlying conditions
