David’s Coastal Dream

At 41 David built the coastal home of his dreams in the Gippsland region.

“It was a lifelong dream to build a home by the coast. Reminiscent of my childhood spent with my family.”

Why Fairhaven?

The answer was simple

“Fairhaven made me feel welcome and comfortable right from the ‘get go’ plus great value for money.”

The one David had an ah uh moment when he discovered the Newport 413. Offering six Bedrooms, two Bathrooms, two Powder Rooms, three Living areas, a Theatre, Study Nook and Covered Outdoor Area.

8

Bridgewater Range

Originally David was interested in a home design previously on offer, the Eden, but decided that the double storey home was too small and didn’t provide all the features he was looking for in his dream home

The build

The happiest moment for David was during the frame stage.

“Secretly I had a brief teary moment when I drove around the corner and saw half of the frame up.” He explained.

Basin & sinks types have really changed over the years, how do you see the market continuing to trend & change?

The residential product landscape continues to grow and change.

In 2023 we’ve seen the market embrace; natural elements, textures and compact solutions.

The ‘back to nature’ trend sees strong natural greens and taupes feature throughout wet areas.

Our Aurora range embraces this, offering basins in our signature Forest and Smoky Taupe colours.

Statement basins are also having their moment and we predict that as the year progresses, natural stone varieties like our Lithos™ will only become more popular.

Textures are heavily influencing material palettes across the Kitchen, Laundry and Bathroom. For sinks we suggest our engineered natural quartz Arqstone™ which has visual texture, while remaining smooth to the touch! Alternatively, for basins our Arko 355 in white texture, beautifully contrasts a gloss white inner bowl against a matte stone-like exterior.

Compact spaces are also becoming more prominent, with housing prices continuing to rise. Bigger is not always better and we expect smaller communal areas to become the focal point throughout the home. To satisfy this trend we have a number of space saving sinks available across our Foundation, Elevate and Fusion Collections. Similarly, we offer many compact basins in Limni, Arko and Plati ranges.

The Limni 450 can be seen in Fairhaven’s newest display in Ferntree Ridge estate, Drouin.

Limni 450 is ceramic and available in gloss white with an integrated overflow and optional tap hole.

Its rectangular form and soft corners provide a relaxed calm aesthetic, that would complement any contemporary Bathroom.

Choosing a Seima product for your own home, what is your top pick?

Any Arqstone™ Oros sink!

Our Arqstone™ range sets the standard for Kitchen and Laundry sinks. Engineered for strength and durability from natural quartz, its smooth texture is hygienic and easy to clean.

Arqstone™ sinks are available in several configurations including our new Oros 450 (small single bowl, dual mount sink) and Oros 902 (large double bowl, butler style sink).

All sinks in the range are offered in classic white and trending black, as seen in the kitchen at Kaduna Park: Riverview 219 (Oros 550 - Black). Arqstone’s stunning design is sure to be the center of attention in any modern home.

1/2 medium onion, chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

400g can crushed tomatoes

4 cups beef stock

1/2 red capsicum, chopped small

The benefit of a

fireplace in winter

If you have ever sat around the warm glow of a fireplace on a winter evening, you’ll know how comfortable and cosy a fire at home can be. Many people consider fireplaces a bonus when building, designing and searching for their new home – and for good reason! A fireplace is a great way to add that warm glow to your living area, where you can relax and beat the winter chill.

16

1. Enjoy the ambience

There’s nothing better than sitting by the fire, warming your feet and watching the flames crackle and glow. Cosy up for fun times with the family, enjoy a sophisticated drink with friends or spend a romantic night by the fire with someone you love

3. Increase value of your home

Real estate trends show that many people consider fireplaces a plus when buying a new home. Having a fireplace means not only enjoying it for many years but also knowing that if you ever choose to sell, you’ll have added an extra point of interest and greater value to your home.

2. Add style and character to your space

Fireplaces create a unique atmosphere that you can work with depending on your style. A fireplace is visually stunning and makes for a great focal point, setting the tone for the space. You might find it gives your living area depth and sophistication, or maybe it lends a bit of character and flair to an otherwise simple interior.

4. Save energy and lower your bills

Did you know that having a fireplace can help you save money? Fireplaces are often a more efficient way of heating the house, meaning that you won’t have to rely on inefficient and expensive heating to stay warm.

Is your home thermal efficient?

Upgrading your home’s thermal efficiency is not just about comfort – it’s also about sustainability, longevity and keeping energy use down.

Below you’ll find five simple ways to upgrade your Fairhaven home’s thermal efficiency.

Consider what’s best for you

No home has the same thermal aspects, so it’s important to consider what’s right for you. When planning an upgrade you’ll need to take things like budget, specifications, aesthetics, access and durability into account.

Single vs Double-Glazed Windows

Although they’re cheaper to install, single-glazed windows don’t give you much in the way of insulation. Double-glazed windows, on the other hand, use two panes of glass with a vacuumed air gap between them, creating an insulated barrier.

Improve your wall insulation

Improving your wall insulation is another great way to upgrade. High quality external wall insulation means regulating how much heat your home gains and loses in different weather conditions, which is an essential part of climate control.

Upgrade your ceiling insulation

Ceiling insulation is one of the big ones when it comes to thermal efficiency.

The R rating measures insulation’s ability to resist the flow of heat. The higher the number is, the better your insulation will be.

Invest in quality blinds and curtains

Besides setting the mood and looking great, blinds and curtains are key players in keeping your Fairhaven home’s thermal aspects under control.

Window fittings can work with or against things like location and weather to give you more control over your climate. Well fit blinds or shades, such as honeycomb or roller are widely regarded as the most energy efficient.
