Hello, Everyone! External Public Relations of ALSA LC UI Board of 2023 brought the theme of “Copyright Protection in the Use of Artificial Intelligence”. Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) has created a massive impact as soon as people realize the benefits it provides and how does it affect people’s life in multidimensional ways. However, after further reviews, using AI has raised legal problems in copyright protection because of its ability to produce works by absorbing data without mentioning the source and obtaining permission from the original author. ALSA LC UI Newsletter 2023 features an interview with Ari Juliano, a Partner in Intellectual Property & Entertainment Practice at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners, as well as the selected news article from the Open Submission written by Davina Adinda and Jody Nicholas.
