This year’s ALSA LC UI Newsletter brought the theme of “The Rise of Technology-Driven Gender-Based Violence: A Threat to Women's Safety and Well-being.” Technology has revolutionized how we live, work, and connect, offering immense opportunities for growth and empowerment. However, it also brings alarming threats, particularly for women and girls, who are disproportionately targeted by acts of technology-driven gender-based violence. Forms of this violence, such as online harassment, cyberstalking, image-based abuse, and online grooming, have become increasingly prevalent, often carried out through digital platforms like social media. These acts invade personal spaces, threaten safety, and silence women's voices by spreading misinformation or engaging in blackmail.
