Wonderful underground Christmas adventure From Saturday 26 November until Christmas Eve, Children can visit Santa in his real underground grotto, choose a present, then follow delightful displays telling the enchanting story of ‘Evie’s Aeroplane’ created through nine impressive caverns. It’s a charming story about a little girl and her toy aeroplane and the adventures they get up to during Christmas - come and see the delightful story unfold. The displays are the creation of children’s book illustrator Heather Holland, who has worked with Clearwell Caves staff to create spectacular festive displays over a number of years. Santa Claus Ahoy! - All aboard for a festive cruise The newly refurbished National Waterways Museum celebrates the role that Gloucester Docks and the local canal network had in transporting goods to the industrial Midlands. Gloucester is a city packed with history and is a great day out for the whole family. Recently Gloucester Docks was used as a location in the latest Disney’s blockbuster ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’. Children will enjoy a trip along the same section of water used in the film on a Santa Cruise. Step aboard the King Arthur to see Santa come down the chimney into his floating grotto and enjoy a 45-minute festive cruise. Cruises will take place on December 10, 11 and 17 - 24. The cruise will depart from the museum and the ticket also includes entry to the museum. Children will have the opportunity to take part in seasonal arts and crafts and also follow ‘The 12 Trees of Christmas’ indoor trail.
