GIBBES MUSEUM OF ART
Sarah and Charlie’s big day was a springtime dream come true, nestled in the heart of the lush Lenhardt Garden. With a little magic from the creative geniuses at Emma Ivey Events and Festoon, the whole a air was a vibrant ode to the season, bursting with the freshest, most colorful blooms.
Every corner radiated the joy of spring, with tables adorned in a riot of blossoms, from peonies to roses and da odils. The linens, like a canvas of springtime hues, were speckled with playful floral patterns, courtesy of BBJ La Tavola.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, guests dug into a feast fit for the season, courtesy of Harvest Catering, while tunes by the Station Seven Band kept everyone on their feet.
And when the time came to bid adieu, Sarah and Charlie dashed through a tunnel of sparklers, hopping into a whimsically decorated vintage limousine, ready to drive o into their own springtime sunset, forever blooming together.

Laun & Luke VILLAGE VOWS

It was love at first sight for Lauren and Luke, who met during their third year of medical school. “When he proposed several months later, it was the easiest yes I have ever given,” Lauren said. Then came the wedding decision. They returned to Lauren’s favorite place, Pitt Street Village near the Old Village in Mount Pleasant, where Luke had popped the question. Tucked alongside the shimmering water, the Old Village has been home to Charleston families since the eighteenth century. For Lauren and Luke, its mix of storied charm and rhapsodic Charleston Harbor views encapsulated their vision of the perfect wedding day, layering rich history with contemporary elan. From exchanging vows near the harbor to toasting their future at The Post House Inn, the delighted couple was able to dream up a fetching celebration for friends and family.

Best Practices For Securing A Room Block
•Hotel room blocks for weddings allow guests to stay in the same hotel and make planning and transportation a breeze.
•Start looking at hotels in close proximity to your reception venue, next consider their amenities, and finally price point.
•You should reserve room blocks with at least two hotels if you are having a lot of out-of-town guests and a larger-thanaverage guest list of over 200.
•You will need to share your expected arrival and departure dates, as well as any special requests you’re hoping the property can accommodate, like welcome bags or in-room gifts.
•Book a smaller number of rooms at first and add more later in order to avoid penalties if rooms go unreserved.
•Once you’ve found a property that meets your requirements, you will need to negotiate the contract terms. This is where a wedding planner’s industry experience becomes invaluable.
•Once your contract is signed, share the booking information with your guests on your wedding website, via email, and on your save-the-dates.

What You Didn’t Know About Four of Charleston’s Historic Wedding Venues
Charleston is renowned for its warm hospitality and picturesque architecture. But it’s what you don’t know about some of our historic wedding venues that might surprise you. Each unique location has been lovingly restored to welcome couples celebrating their big day.
Low Grove
Built in 1786, this historic waterfront estate o ers majestic views of the Ashley River, providing stunning sunsets and river breezes. Most recently, Lowndes Grove appeared in the hit Netflix series, Outer Banks, as Sarah Cameron’s family home.
Wiiam Aik He
The William Aiken House’s vibrant yellow façade, sweeping piazzas, and 100-year-old oak trees captivate guests with 1800s allure. Finely appointed antiques create a charming interior reminiscent of the first 100+ years of its life as the Southern Railway’s headquarters. In 2004, it was the backdrop for Ali’s memorable wedding dress fitting scene in The Notebook.
Ari Theer
Located in the heart of upper King Street, the American Theater’s iconic marquee shines bright throughout downtown Charleston, and its art deco design pays tribute to the 1940s era in which it was built. In 2004, it provided the romantic backdrop for the beginning of Ali and Noah’s love story in The Notebook.
Parcel 32
Originally a family home built in 1837, Parcel 32 has been renovated and restored over the years, serving as a bakery, a shoe repair shop, a restaurant, and most recently, an intimate event venue. Its location, cuisine, stunning upstairs cocktail lounge, and historic design make it the perfect setting for rehearsal dinners and micro weddings.

THE GADSDEN HOUSE
Lowcountry Love:
A Black Tie A air
Ashley and John’s wedding was a romantic reflection of Charleston charm, framed by the timeless beauty of The Gadsden House. Built in 1798, the historic venue— with its sweeping double piazzas and enchanting courtyard gardens—provided the perfect backdrop for their elegant a air.
Guests stepped into the four-story home, where original hardwood floors gleamed beneath soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers. Soft tones of olive and sage, accented by lush greenery and cascading florals, added an understated elegance that complemented the venue’s natural beauty.
During cocktail hour, laughter echoed as guests gathered around a tower of sparkling champagne coupes, the briny aroma of freshly shucked oysters filling the air. As twilight fell, guests dined al fresco on locally inspired Lowcountry fare under a canopy of twinkling string lights. The celebration continued with dancing under the stars, martinis in hand, as velvet lounges invited guests to relax and revel in the moment.
Every detail reflected the rich history and Southern charm that make The Gadsden House a beloved venue for life’s most treasured celebration.

A WINTER LOWCOUNTRY GARDEN
Boone Hall Plantation
Charleston Native, Martha Camille, dreamed of an elegant Lowcountry a air for her February 2024 wedding. Planner, Natalie Knox Rosenzweig from Boone Hall took her inspiration and created a dreamy evening filled with crisp white florals and cool winter blues. Martha Camille and Jordan met at the end of Boone Hall’s extended aisle to exchange memorable vows. They said their “I Do’s” in front of a beautifully adorned cross; sentimental of the faith they both share. After the garden ceremony, guests strolled down the champagneadorned Avenue of Oaks to the Cotton Dock. Guests were greeted by a grand custom-painted bar with large floral arches. The Cotton Dock was filled with lush greenery, chandeliers, and heavy florals creating an inspired and sophisticated atmosphere. Guests were drawn to the marsh views and cozy lounges on the dock. This lively group danced the night away with Evolution Band. Guests were elated with the surprise of the Clemson Cub and USC Cocky Mascots. Late-night snacks were also passed around; Chick-fil-A sandwiches, Individual Jeni’s Ice Cream, and Custom Coke Bottles were the cherry on top of an evening full of love and entertainment. To wind down the night guests gathered around a fire pit and enjoyed a co ee bar to keep them warm before Martha Camille and Jordan rode away in a Vintage Bronco as the happily married newlyweds!

When Katee and Tony made the leap to get engaged, they were soon swept away by the notion of an autumnal, oceanside wedding. They found an idyllic setting for a coastal gathering under open-air tents at Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, located on the unspoiled barrier island set along the Atlantic Ocean. Landing on a palette of lush greens and bright whites, the décor fit the naturally beautiful setting to a tee. Whimsical touches added to the festivities, including a board of fortune cookies welcoming guests to try their own luck with table numbers. And, naturally, every seat to toast the couple this awe-inspiring alfresco a air was fortunate indeed.

In Blm
Charleston is a botanical playground year-round. No matter when you choose to visit, you’re sure to find something blooming. As the birthplace of America’s first landscaped gardens, the home of the nation’s sole commercial tea garden, and the site of the oldest romantic-style gardens in the country, Charleston is deeply intertwined with botanical history. Strolling along its cobblestone streets and winding alleyways unveils hidden gardens nestled between pastelhued Colonial residences and concealed behind ornate wrought iron gates. Charleston’s blossoms eagerly await your discovery.

KleyPalr&THE HEART OF CHARLESTON

For Kinley and Palmer, getting married in the heart of downtown Charleston was utterly essential. Kinley’s family has deep roots on the peninsula, and their wedding honored generations of family history, love and tradition. The ceremony took place at St. Philip’s Church, where Palmer’s family has attended for years. Such a meaningful exchange of vows was followed by more meaning still. The reception was held at Hibernian Society Hall, where Kinley’s parents had also celebrated three decades ago. “The decision to marry in Charleston wasn’t just about finding the perfect wedding location—it was about legacy and love coming full circle,” Kinley said. “For us, our wedding wasn’t just a celebration of our new beginning together; it was a blend of the past, present and future, all within the city that shaped our families’ lives for generations.”

THE CHARLESTON PLACE
Opulence
and Glamour in the
Heart of Charleston
Surrounded by the beauty and charm of historic downtown, Jaclyn and Jacob tied the knot in an elegant celebration at The Charleston Place. Jaclyn and her bridesmaids spent the morning in a luxurious suite at the iconic hotel, sharing laughter and Champagne. The moment Jaclyn descended the signature grand staircase, all eyes were on her, radiant in a timeless grace. Friends and family walked the brick drive from the hotel to the ceremony at the adjacent Saint Mary of the Annunciation followed by portraits underneath a custom marquee at the Riviera Theater. Guests were then welcomed back to The Charleston Place for a refined cocktail hour in the Grand Hall, followed by an unforgettable reception in the Grand Ballroom adorned with crystal chandeliers and candlelit tablescapes dressed in an abundance of grand, white florals and simple greenery. The venue’s elegance was matched only by the exquisite cuisine and magnificent 4-tiered cake crafted by the hotel’s renowned pastry team. Every detail reflected Jaclyn and Jacob’s classic style, making their day truly magical.

There was plenty of magic at the wedding of Anna and Alex, some carefully planned and some unforeseen. Set in the bride’s hometown of Charleston, the ceremony played out on the beguiling grounds of a historic estate long since transformed into Ashley Hall School where Anna graduated. An e usion of florals on wrought iron gates welcome guests to a rolling lawn brimming enchanting moments, from lily-pad ponds floating to conch shell-studded walls. The bu et gleamed with treasured silver from the personal collection of family, owners of Charleston’s beloved, multigenerational Croghan’s Jewel Box. Then there was this: The couple’s Palm Beach-chic palette of hot pink and Kelly green was met with more magic still. In the days leading to the big one, rare snow powdered the town, lending sparkling surprise that Anna and Alex will marvel over for the rest of their lives.

HOLY CITY Hey

Ah, the Charleston honeymoon. A boundless entrée to sheer romance, it may well rival the Charleston wedding in its power to conjure enduring memories.
From the historic district’s elegant, grand homes to the region’s stunning sweeps of landscape, the heights of refined living are blissfully wed with an agreeable, balmy climate. In the Charleston area, every new experience is love at first sight.
There really is no better place for a honeymoon, that first celebrated stop in a lifelong adventure. Long hosting weddings from near and far, this jewel of a destination is a stunning setting to launch a love for the ages, one awe-inspiring day after the next.
DAY ONE
Settle in at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina, perched over Charleston Harbor for you to take in the stunning city skyline. On the resort you’ll find plenty to enthrall you, starting with the 30,000-foot tropical pool deck, the city’s only waterfront Tiki Bar, and a host of o erings for a stellar stay.
Time Traveling
For a rhapsodic stretch of harbor and horizon, head for the pedestrian path on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Then make your way to the iconic Waterfront Park with its welcoming, photo-friendly pineapple fountain. Further still toward the Battery on the tip of the peninsula, take in optimal views of Fort Sumter framed by the alluring harbor.
Prefer a prime ride? Hop on a private vis-à-vis horse-drawn carriage by way of Palmetto Carriage Works, where an openair ride with an informed guide at the reins highlights significant historic sites. Before or after, cozy up for intimate lunch at Azur, the culinary newcomer that marries European accents with modern flair.
STARS Gazing
The Charleston skyline’s the limit for honeymooners and other guests seeking a pre-dinner toast and a panoramic view of Charleston from on high at the Satellite Bar at STARS, Charleston’s dynamic, convivial rooftop spot perched atop King Street in downtown Charleston.
Court and Spark
Tucked away on quaint Queen Street is the transcendent 82 Queen, which is known for its majestic courtyard boasting a grand magnolia tree and dating back three centuries. It doesn’t get much more Charleston than this, both its evocative setting and its starlit, wonderfully Southern cuisine.

DAY TWO
As you awake to greet the second day of your honeymoon, set your sights on other enticing Lowcountry terrain. Beyond the beloved historic district, a quintessential Carolina honeymoon will embrace its idyllic coastal locale, which is framed by undulating dunes and an ever-shifting tableau of leaping fish and swooping birdlife. By land or by water, venture out.
Island Time
Ease into a honeymoon state of mind with a visit to Isle of Palms, the winsome barrier island that o ers the best in beach life. Settle in for lunch at Islander 71, a fish house and deck bar sure to soothe your senses, Southern-style.
Coast with the Most
No Charleston interlude is complete without time on its glistening waterways. Consider a kayak excursion with Coastal Expeditions, which promises a full-on foray into singular, salty terrain. Along pristine coastline, you’ll together take in swaying salt marsh estuaries, lush hammock islands, tranquil egrets gliding by as you do.
The Reel Charleston
From there, a post-paddle pick-me-up is as easy as popping into the Reel Bar at Charleston Harbor Resort. Get into the angler spirit of this casual, fun watering hole topped o with antique tackle décor, a perfect cap to your seafaring day.
Catch a Dinner View
If there was ever an occasion for fresh seafood, a Lowcountry sojourn fits the bill. Right in Mount Pleasant on Patriots Point, The Charleston Harbor Fish House serves up dishes from land and sea, while also o ering sweeping views of the historic Charleston skyline from every table.
DAY THREE
From phenomenal shopping to a transporting spa treatment, now is the time to luxuriate throughout the city. Set the tone for inspired times ahead with ample pampering of the finest order.
Raw Talent
When it comes to raw bars, Charleston is your oyster. A range of superior bivalves from near and far are ready and chilled to perfection at The Darling Oyster Bar, a darling in its own right marrying chic décor and briny delights.

DAY FOUR
It’s romance, after all, that brought you to this alluring city by the sea. From its famously elegant live oaks adorned with hanging moss to its breathtaking architecture, this romantic haven feels the love, and you will, too.
Prime for a Picnic
It’s always a good idea to avail of Charleston’s glorious weather with a well-packed picnic. Thanks to Salthouse Catering, it’s also e ortless when you opt for their always impressive gourmet to-go basket.
Blanket the Day
With basket in hand, you’ll want to wend your way to Boone Hall Plantation, a picnic-perfect locale beneath unfolding grand allees of live oaks. Walk o your meal with a self-guided stroll around its glorious grounds, then delve deeper into local Gullah culture with on-site o erings.
Peninsula Dinner
It’s time for another unforgettable dinner downtown. If French brasserie fare tempts your palate, head to Brasserie Le Banque, the lively neighborhood French restaurant with classic dishes as well as a selection of premium caviar to next-level your evening out.
Toast with Locals
Wind up the evening like a local at Graft Wine Bar, the wine shop that has quickly become a neighborhood favorite thanks to its superior wine selection, standout music and local color.
