I'vestruggledwithmymentalhealthsince latemiddleschool,earlyhighschool, primarilywithdepression,anxiety,andself-
harm.I irstnoticeddepressivesymptoms inmiddleschool,andstartedharming aroundsophomoreyearofhighschool,butI couldn'tunderstandwhatwasgoingonor thatthesewerepartsofabiggerproblem.
Ididn'tgethelpuntilsenioryearofhigh school,andeventhen,itrequiredalotof peopletonoticewhatwasgoingon, understandthiswasserious,and indthe helpforme.Ineverwouldhaveknownhow tonavigategettinghelponmyown,and whenIspoketomostpeoplemyage,they didn'tunderstandandgotangrywithme forthewaysIwasacting-therewasjusta lotofstigmaarounditatthattime.And onceIgraduatedhighschool,Ilostaccessto thecareIneeded.
