KANGCHUN SUN KANGCHUN SUN PORTFOLIO PORTFOLIO

In this exercise, I mainly depicted the structure of the pen. As well as a diagram of its movement as it dips into the ink and moves to be used for writing.
My cube is divided by several layers of paper in the middle to form two approximately complementary spaces. The structure of each side echoes the other, like a twin with subtle differences.

Exercise 3 completed a 2D->3D->2D->3D transition. In the beginning, there were only a few shapes consisting of geometric patterns. The initial pattern consists of rectangles, circles, and triangles.
In the figure shown on the right, the two patterns on the east side were exchanged from others.
In the subsequent 2D to 3D conversions, Models 1, 3, and 4 are constructed as void, while Model 2 is constructed as sculpture.

When converting the physical models to 2d plans again, color is used to distinguish the actual physical location of the models. For example, in the top left corner of the diagram, the darker the color, the closer the layer.
In the final 2d to 3d process, I tried many surfaces that were not easily implemented in the physical model since I did not need to build a physical model. When designing these models, I tried to use tools to help me design them. Based on the before-and-after relationship shown in the 2d images, I searched for tools suitable for creating links with them.

In project 1, I designed an integrated space combining terraces and a pavilion on a 96*96 feet site. The pavilion is used to exhibit artworks, while the terrace is designed as a cafe.

Duration: About 8 weeks
The pavilion was initially designed with No.14 chair, which is also known as the 'bistro chair' for its elegance and it’s widely used in coffee shops, as inspiration. At the same time, two other chairs are also exhibited in it. As chairs are something that blends into our daily lives and is meant to relax people, I planned to create a leisurely and cozy exhibition environment. So I make such roofs to create a light effect similar to the shadow of the leaves, learning from Toyo Ito's Tod's Omotesando Building's façade pattern.
For my pavilion, its architectural vocabulary mainly consists of interlocking roofs with openwork patterns, wooden beams supporting the walls and roofs, and the interior circulation paths divided by the walls.
The whole set is a slope, while the entrance is located at the highest point. The form strategy lies in the fan-shaped arrangement of the terraces and pavilions. I arrange these l trapezoid shapes by making their boundary parallel or diffracted while rotating slightly. They spread out across the site, Gradually extending down the ramp, with decreasing in height (differences) and some slight overlaps, echoing the grassland, distant low walls, and small platforms throughout the site.

This image is composed of diagrams and renderings of project 1 in a completely new style. The diagrams are centered on the perspective view in the middle, surrounded by four views from different angles and a plan view. This diagram shows the leisurely and cozy atmosphere of the project, creating a sense of storytelling. The diagram shown is a process work.
