What does it mean to have the Strength of a Rose?

You have resilience and inner strength: Roses are beautiful and they are also strong plants that can grow even when things are tough. The thorns of roses protect them. This shows we have the ability to protect oneself or handle difficulties.

You have beauty and vulnerability: The gentle petals of a rose represent beauty, grace, and possibly vulnerability. This suggests we are both strong and sensitive as we accept both our strengths and our softer side.

You have passion and spirit: Roses, especially red ones, often stand for love, passion, and strong feelings. Having the "Strength of a Rose" could mean having a strong inner drive, a passionate spirit, and the bravery to pursue your dreams.

You finding beauty in imperfection: The mix of delicate petals and sharp thorns shows the acceptance of flaws and the ability to see beauty even when things are hard.

There's something incredibly special about roses; And when you say you have the Strength of a Rose, it is like describing how you have a unique mix of toughness and gentleness. You have beauty, passion and a quiet strength that grows even when things are hard.

Beyond the beauty of a rose, they've come to hold great significance to many different people as they are tangible symbols of hope, resilience and strength.

Entrepreneur | Publisher | U.S. Army Veteran | Author

Inspirational Leader | Life Coach | Master of Herbs

Welcome to the Strength of a Rose Experience issue a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the boundless possibilities that life offers when we dare to step out on faith. My name is Katrina Mosley Stinnett, and I am honored to share my story and the evolution of my life's work with you. As an entrepreneur, U.S. Army Veteran, publisher, inspiration leader, and author of Collecting Wooden Nickels: A Journey of Stepping Out On Faith and Receiving Everything Life Brings, my path has been shaped by courage, determination, and an unwavering belief in the power of growth.

The seeds of my journey were planted long before I ever thought of building a business. After serving our country, I sought a new way to express creativity and serve others, inspired by the lessons learned in both moments of triumph and adversity. In 2010, this vision came to life with the founding of Katwalk Planet a venture born out of the desire to help individuals and communities celebrate life’s milestones with beauty, meaning, and heart.

Katwalk Planet began as a modest consulting and décor business for weddings and events. I found joy in creating custom pieces: from exquisite flower arrangements to memorable photographs, from publishing program booklets to crafting luxurious soaps and oils. Each project was an opportunity to touch lives, to sow seeds of happiness and to celebrate the unique stories of those around me.

The road to success was neither straight nor simple. When I started publishing, it was an era marked by barriers access to exposure and coverage for entrepreneurs, creatives, and those launching new ventures was limited. Unless you had deep pockets or influential connections, your ideas often went unheard. Yet, I refused to be deterred. What began as a small project, publishing event materials and modest magazines, soon blossomed into something far greater a platform dedicated to amplifying voices, nurturing dreams, and celebrating the fullness of life.

Driven by a passion to uplift others, I poured myself into this work. The project grew organically, evolving into a destination for everything life brings, with a focus on home, family, and the everyday journeys that shape us. The growth was exhilarating, and with each new challenge, I found fresh inspiration.

By 2015, the project had outgrown its original name and scope. Alongside my husband, Quentin who serves as Marketing Director, we rebranded to become Everything Life Brings (ELB). This change was more than cosmetic; it represented a deeper commitment to our audience, expanding our reach and refining our mission. ELB became affectionately known as a home for inspiration, creativity, and practical wisdom for living well.

With each new season, ELB offers fresh perspectives and ideas, encouraging readers to imagine, create, and improve the lives they wish to lead. More than just a publication, ELB is a movement one that grows alongside its audience, inspiring individuals to celebrate family, nurture friendships, and cultivate joy.

At the heart of Everything Life Brings is a simple, profound goal: to impact lives, one at a time, by growing together. Through custom projects, thoughtful articles, and the sharing of stories, ELB offers a wellspring of ideas for outdoor living, gardening, recipes, and vibrant ways to celebrate special moments. We believe that creativity is not reserved for a select few, but is the birthright of all who choose to embrace it.

From tips on sprucing up your living space to strategies for hosting memorable gatherings, from inspiration for gardening to recipes that bring loved ones together, ELB is designed to be a companion on your journey. We hope our magazine

encourages you to dream big, to take risks, and to find wonder in the everyday.

As I reflect on my journey, I am humbled by the myriad experiences and memories I have been privileged to create. From intimate barn events in Alabama to grand affairs in sprawling estates across the United States, from sun-drenched Caribbean island celebrations in St. Lucia to majestic gatherings in European cathedrals France, Germany and Italy each event has taught me something profound about people, possibilities, and the universal language of beauty.

Decorating, planning, and designing custom pieces for clients around the world has given me a unique perspective on the ways in which creativity can bridge cultures, unite hearts, and leave lasting impressions. Whether crafting bespoke soaps infused with natural fragrances, arranging flowers to mirror the spirit of an occasion, or curating program booklets and magazines tailored to celebrate milestones, my work has always been guided by the desire to make life’s moments unforgettable.

The journey of entrepreneurship demands perseverance and faith. There have been moments of uncertainty, times when the path was unclear, and occasions where challenges seemed insurmountable. Yet, it was in these moments that the strength of a rose resilient, beautiful, and undaunted by adversity truly revealed itself.

Stepping out on faith has been central to my story. It is the willingness to embrace the unknown, to believe in possibility, and to trust that each effort, no matter how small, contributes to a larger tapestry of growth.

The professional odyssey began with a passion for photography and storytelling, leading to encounters with remarkable individuals whose legacies shape communities and inspire generations. Among the subjects photographed is A’Lelia Bundles, the great-great granddaughter of Madam C. J. Walker, whose own work continues a lineage of entrepreneurial excellence and social progress. The camera also turned to Sharonda Grandberry, an inspirational leader and award-winning stylist her artistry and spirit illuminate paths for those who aspire to creative mastery.

The gallery of collaborators extends further: David “BIG FITZ” Fitzpatrick, renowned award winning spoken word artist and poet from Gadsden, Alabama; and the late TT Jones, and his son Chris Garner–Jones of the TT Jones Racing Team champions and world-record setters in professional drag racing, whose achievements mark historical firsts in the sport. The diversity continues with R&B artist JL and rap artist B.Ez, emblematic of the creative pulse in Atlanta and Pompano Beach. Each portrait, each story, is more than an image it is a testament to the transformative power of visibility and representation. A career defined by versatility found its rhythm in publishing and mentorship. My works have graced the pages of numerous journals and magazines, my words echoing in empowerment events across several states. But the contribution runs deeper serving as a ghostwriter, I have helped craft the voices of others, ushering their stories

into the world with skill and sensitivity. The role as a guide is evident in the support provided to aspiring writers and entrepreneurs, assisting them in launching their own publications in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Under the banner of Katwalk Planet, the avenue of influence continued with: talent management and scouting for artists, models, and even a MMA fighter. This work not only cultivated raw talent, but fostered the dreams of those who sought their place in competitive and creative fields. Vision, when paired with collaboration, becomes movement. Partnering with Anner J. Echols, the esteemed founder and CEO of AJE Dreamland Productions, we brought to life the MidSouth BEST Model–Modeling Competition in Memphis, Tennessee. This event was more than a contest it was a showcase of diversity, excellence, and possibility for models in the region. With each runway walk and posed photograph, the competition served as a platform to amplify confidence and launch careers.

Katrina Mosley Stinnett has the Strength of a Rose! 5

One of the most significant milestones was the creation and production of the Official Alabama Black Expo the first in the state. Together with my husband, we established a network where entrepreneurs could forge lasting connections with consumers, nurturing business growth and innovation within Alabama’s vibrant Black community. The impact was so profound that Mayor Tommy Battle of Huntsville issued a proclamation, designating August 28th as Everything Life Brings (ELB) Day a date etched in the city’s calendar as a celebration of enterprise, unity, and forward movement. My commitment to service extended deep into the heart of Alabama, where my work in the Housing First Initiative through the Department of Veteran Affairs Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) touched communities across all but two counties. Launching the Huntsville office as Site Manager before rapidly

ascending to Senior Site Manager, I developed standard operating procedures, ensured quality assurance for payment approvals, and managed financial requisitions across major city offices– Birmingham, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa and Tuskegee.

I transferred to Case Manager and Housing Specialist, this role transcended paperwork and procedures. It became a personal mission: to walk alongside veterans, to hear their stories, and to guide them from homelessness to stable housing. This work meant transforming statistics into stories, turning account numbers into friendships, and giving hope to those who needed it most. Documented recognition followed certifying and housing the most veterans multiple times but the underlying motivation was always deeper: making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who sacrificed for their country.

The journey has not been without hardship. The phrase “Strength of a Rose” (SOAR) emerged during periods of loss and devastation, when resilience was not a choice but a necessity. Drawing from personal trials, I discovered the power of resilience that even in moments of weakness, the spirit can rise, undefeated, if only one refuses to give up. This transformative insight led to the pursuit of further study in coaching and herbalism, integrating knowledge of healing herbs into soaps and hair growth oils, and supporting others in their self-care journeys.

SOAR is more than a phrase it is an ethos, a movement, and an invitation for others to find power in their pain and to turn adversity into purpose. Through my journey as a magazine publisher, I realized that true success was not anchored in publishing, coaching, or herbal remedies. Instead, it was woven into the intricate relationships those between individuals and the natural world, the links between symptoms and their deeper causes, and the connection between body and soul. Along the way, I learned to embrace caution and humility, understanding that every thing, every moment, and every person arrives in its own right time and place.

Over the years, I have witnessed with both awe and humility how our humble creations soaps and hair growth oils have sown seeds of transformation in the lives of many. The stories shared, the gratitude expressed, and the gentle confessions of hope restored have all become woven into the fabric of my everyday life. What began as an endeavor to nurture my body soon blossomed into something far greater: a movement that reached beyond skin and scalp, touching the mind, stirring the heart, and, at times, awakening the spirit of many.

It was not uncommon for people to seek my advice on self-care, drawing upon the wisdom I shared in our catalogs and magazines. I became a gentle presence in their homes, a voice of encouragement at their bathroom mirrors and bedside tables. Yet, while I offered words of comfort and guidance, I harbored a storm of my own a cyclone of questions and quiet doubts swirling in the chambers of my soul.

When I introduce myself, most people smile knowingly and say, “Katrina, like the hurricane.” I always laugh with them, echoing, “Yes, like the hurricane.” Beneath that laughter, few ever guessed that for all the years I poured myself into

helping others find peace, I was weathering my own internal Hurricane Katrina. It was a tempest marked by uncertainty about my direction, my confidence, my self-worth. None of the peaceful acts of creating self-care rituals, curating thoughtful catalogs and magazines, or formulating nourishing oils could fully quiet the winds of doubt within me.

No journey is ever undertaken alone. I am deeply grateful for every person who has been a part of the Strength of a Rose Experience and Everything Life Brings. Your presence, encouragement, and support have been instrumental in shaping this mission. Each story shared, each product developed, each moment of connection is a testament to the power of community.

As I continue on this path, I am reminded daily of the importance of gratitude. It is the heartbeat of purpose, the force that propels us forward when the way is unclear. Gratitude turns obstacles into stepping stones and transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. I cherish every opportunity to give back and to help others, knowing that together, we are building something beautiful and lasting.

The future is unwritten a blank page waiting to be filled with stories of hope, resilience, and transformation. My plan is to remain steadfast, to keep facing everything life brings with open arms and an open heart. I will continue to nurture my gifts, innovate in ways that help others, and stay anchored in the mission to be a force for good in the world.

As we move forward together, let us remember that change begins with each one of us. By committing to personal growth and extending that chance to others, we ignite a spark that can light up the world. Through creative expression, compassionate action, and the unwavering belief in our potential, we are capable of creating a legacy of empowerment and kindness.

The Strength of a Rose Experience is not merely my story it is everyone’s story. It is woven from the threads of challenge and triumph, creativity and collaboration, gratitude and hope. It is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to overcome and to give back, to nurture dreams and to make a difference.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey. May we continue to learn, grow, and uplift one another, embracing the beauty and resilience that life offers. Together, let us be the change the world needs to see, and write a future worthy of the gifts we have been given.
