Every Shelter - Miriam's Story

Your house is more than a house.

It’s home to tee ball & tea parties, backyard bonfires & fireflies. Where your kids will grow tall & you will grow old.

It’s amazing how important four walls and a roof can be.

And no one knows this better than Miriam.

Miriam and her family left behind their home when civil war erupted in their backyard.

And they aren’t alone.

Over sixty-eight million people are currently displaced by violence, war, and natural disasters;

many of them are living their lives in crowded tent cities far away from their hopes and dreams.

The average family will stay for six years, but far too many will remain for decades. This camp will be the only home many children know.

Temporary shelters were not meant to sustain people for such long periods.

Most lack basics like flooring, meaning these families will spend years living in the dirt, increasing exposure to disease.

That’s where we come in. We design and create durable goods to help create healthier, more dignity-bearing homes!
