‘The Endeavour’ is a brilliant way to share all the good things that happen in our Academy with the local community and beyond.

Every term, we produce our very own school magazine: ‘The Endeavour’, which aims to highlight all our key events from this term. We celebrate all our successes as an academy and highlight staff and student awards.

Dear Parents, carers, staff and students, We have had an amazing and full academic year. Years 7 through to 10 have completed their end-of-year exams, and Year 11s have now completed their GCSE exams. We wish them all the best for their results come August and we are sure they will be something we can all be proud of. Having endeavoured through a particularly tumultuous secondary experience, with a two-year pandemic, their continued efforts were a testament to Wethemselves.hostedanother successful Brixton Connect summer fair, celebrating our community and the many, many things it has to offer. As usual, it was a thriving event with great food, good music, fun activities and smiling faces. I would like to thank our families, students, and staff for their support throughout the year to provide enriching experiences and maintain our high expectations here at EGA.

Principal’s Welcome

It was lovely to see our girls empower each other and the pride they took in themselves and in talking about this issue.

A big thank you to Gracia for organising, and to Miss Kurth, Miss Wilkinson and Mr Morrisey, ALL who helped this to be a success.

3 We hosted digital drop-down days in both Summer Term 1 and Summer Term 2. These were insightful days with engaging experiences where students had the opportunity to investigate the world of technology and computer science through the use of robotics and drones. Thank you to Hyett Education for your expertise and brilliant educationalDigitalsessions. A game which had goals, skills, and a real passion to win. The students won 6-5; they came back from being 5-2 down, which showed great resilience on their part.

“I got to train with the Crystal Palace goalkeeper one-on-one. I improved immediately from it. I wanted to be the goalkeeper in the school team and meeting the Crystal Palace players made me more determined. In a match the other day, I saved two penalties because of the training I received. He taught me how to stand and how to jump and how to tell where the player is going to shoot. I am now the goalkeeper in the school team.”

6 We are pleased and excited to finally announce that we have secured an amazing offer for our students. We will be working in association with a Premier League Club, to initiate our Football Scholarship Academy.

At the end of this academic year, these students were able to showcase the key things they have struggled with, learned, and enjoyed throughout the year with FBB. All staff thoroughly loved listening to their passionate presentation, which were delivered with brilliant eloquence. Thank you to our wonderful FBB coaches who have worked hard to deliver an engaging and enjoyable development programme (we think they have done this with great success).

There was amazing food, an awesome 3D photo machine, a superstar student DJ, shiny red shoes and a groovy, dancing Principal.  The Year 11s looked phenomenal and it was the best feeling seeing them have a such a good time, which they deserved!

THURSDAY 23RD JUNE EVENTS

Our annual community event, Brixton Connect, was hosted again this year with great success! We planned for bigger and better, and that’s exactly what we delivered. We saw greater footfall, more activities, and plenty of delicious food from our varied food stalls from local restaurants. We also showcased some of our curriculum, with History claiming victory for the best curriculum stall of the day, due to the amazing engagement content, quizzes, and more provided by Mr ItOldridge-Turner.wasaprivilege to celebrate this day with our community. We look on eagerly to next year’s Brixton Connect! This year, we were able to host Sports Days for local primary schools Bonneville, Jessops, and Stockwell. Our Sports Leaders from Year 9 and Year 8 were phenomenal in supporting the events and making sure each Sports Day ran smoothly. It was amazing to see how much the primary school students each enjoyed their own sports day. Thank you to staff from Bonneville, Jessops and Stockwell primary schools for choosing Evelyn Grace Academy for your sports days; we look forward to next year!
