READ THE GREEN ON YOUR DEVICE

This issue we take a closer look at some of our Eumundi institutions – it’s the end for some, and the beginning, or change for others. Finding a balance between respecting traditions – because that’s how it has always been done - and reflecting current needs and interests of a community, is a difficult task. Inevitably what’s important to us is determined by community support. Family, community, health, creativity, and the environment are what, I’d say with my esteemed insight as editor of the Green, make us hinterlanders tick – at least that’s what you like reading about! I also think we are an incredibly thoughtful, spiritual group of people who seem to believe in respecting difference – between races, gender, political, religions, partner preferences – and embracing it. We have an affinity and admiration of the land and of our country. We know we’re lucky here – we’re devout about this place and these people.

Business C E L E B R AT E S M A L L B U S I N E S S AT E U M U N D I A WA R D S This year will be the 12th Annual Eumundi Business Awards and Gala Evening hosted and sponsored by Eumundi Square. The awards are held annually to showcase and reward the hardworking small business operators that make our town the unique place that it is. Supporting growth and nurturing small business is vital to ensure sustainability for our township, as well as the region. Eumundi Square has mentored and supported many small businesses over the years and having the opportunity to provide small business with an event that provides recognition for

creativity, innovation, integrity and excellence of product and service during the course of a business year is integral to our aims and objectives. Striving to succeed in small business takes, amongst many other things, courage, risk and determination. Being in a supportive community where achievements are acknowledged not only gives recognition to outstanding traders but inspires all traders to improve their services and products as well as providing the opportunity to celebrate the year that has been and feeling encouraged to embrace the year ahead.

Also, as many traders are so busy with their own business and personal lives in the lead up to Christmas, they don’t have the time or opportunity to come together for their own celebrations during the festive season. Hosting the business awards in October each year is a great way for us all to relax and enjoy a night with other community members and friends as well as to reward outstanding effort within our business community.

We have always welcomed other community associations to join in and provide their own awards for the traders they represent. The Eumundi District Community Association (EDCA) has been involved for many years representing EDCA Wednesday Market traders on the Terraces and - for the past few years Eumundi Chamber

of Commerce (ECC) has also come on board for the purposes of representing their member businesses within the township. Everyone who has a connection to Eumundi has always been welcome to attend and each year we have had a wonderful turnout of small business owners, community and government representatives as well as residents who wish to support our event. Catering, entertainment and enjoyment of the awards night has always been complimentary with drinks supplied by Joe’s Waterhole at bar prices. To nominate a local Eumundi business, simply submit your handwritten nomination or email to the respective organiser listed below by the due date. This year, the event will take place Thursday 24 October.

C H R I S T M A S C E L E B R AT I O N S REVEALED Eumundi’s Carols at the Amphitheatre have been a constant staple on the Christmas calendar, along with the annual night markets. Every year, families have enjoyed coming together to see local kids and performers celebrate Christmas. This year though, the event will be replaced with a Eumundi Christmas Extravaganza. Eumundi & District Historical Association (EHA) take on the mammoth task of organising the event every year and pay for the Carols in part with community funds. EHA secretary Kerrie Bryant-Adams explained it’s also funded by Bendigo Bank, Eumundi District Community Assoc. (EDCA) and Eumundi Community Combined Organisation (ECCO) plus a Sunshine Coast Council grant. Kerry explained, “This year EHA have changed things and the [event] will be run on Friday 13 December on the Market Terraces on the second night market.” “It will feature free entertainment from 5.30pm starting with the Eumundi School Choir and go through to 9pm,” she enthused. “There will be a free festive magic show with Nickleby, an interactive song and dance performance by the Santa’s in festive costume (a bit like a Hi-5) show, the Park Bench Ukuleles and the Boston Belles. There will be a giant snow globe, a free photo booth for Santa photos, free balloon twisting and food stalls around the perimeter. Tables and chairs will be on the lower levels and people will be encourage to bring picnic rugs,” she said.

Doorknocking in your area Next month, I will be doorknocking in Eumundi over two days (18-19 November), with the aim of talking to as many locals as possible. I want to hear directly from residents about your concerns and your local priorities, and what our community needs to ensure we retain our quality of life, while preserving and enhancing our natural environment. Keep an eye on my Facebook page for more details in coming weeks.

Excellence in Business It’s that time of year again, when we celebrate our business community in the annual Eumundi Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. These awards are an excellent way to showcase our local businesses, and the chance to recognise those businesses who go above and beyond. I am grateful for the opportunity this year to co-sponsor the Best ECC Business of the Year and I look forward to being able to acknowledge the efforts of all our local businesses who contribute to Eumundi’s unique, vibrant culture.

Community LAST EUMUNDI CHURCH CLOSES Eumundi’s Presbyterian church recently stopped holding Sunday services and announced the place of worship would be closing. In the 2016 Census 43% of people in Eumundi identified as having “No religion.” Pastor Jens Norved from Maroochydore was charged with the task of revitalising the congregation and building on the dwindling numbers. When asked why, after six decades, the church stopped holding services, Jen explained… By around 2017 [the congregation] had declined with age and opportunities developing elsewhere for Christian gatherings, and as a result our church at Maroochydore (mp.org.au ) was asked if we would have a go at revitalising the work at Eumundi. A group of about twenty people connected to our church and from around the region started gathering as a new church in the same building in 2018. After the first year we were encouraged to see connections made in the community and kind

opportunities to serve in various ways in Eumundi - including in Eumundi’s ANZAC day. We are really grateful for the town’s invitation to serve in these ways. By September 2018 the congregation agreed to continue the new work for another year and see how the local community would respond to a new expression of church in the old building. At the same time, we established a third church campus called Aura Church. Within three months, the Aura church had doubled in attendance from locals down in Aura, while Eumundi Church continued to gain little traction from Eumundi locals. By September this year we felt that despite interest from people outside of Eumundi, the lack of traction among locals for the church project, suggested our resources would be better spent elsewhere. So the

congregation relocated to Maroochydore and we are considering new initiatives elsewhere in the new year. The church building was established in 1954. But services had were held from before that in other venues in Eumundi. The building itself was built with the support of local families. The Templeton’s were one of these establishing families, attending from the first service. Patriach Rick Templeton shared, “My grandmother (Dad’s Mum) used to play the organ since it first opened.” Jens explained the religious inclinations of the congregation were…

People who made up Eumundi Church are Christians who believe that Jesus is the risen king whom angel’s worship, and demon’s fear. We believe that Jesus is God in the flesh, who died on the Cross in our place, who rose from the dead, who ascended to heaven and is coming again to judge the living and the dead. The future of the building is yet to be decided but its owned by the Presbyterian Church. Other former religious buildings in the township have been repurposed as houses and the Methodist church is now the Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre.

Community What you’re saying on Facebook …

Is Eumundi Godless?

ABC.NET.AU One of Queensland’s most ‘godless’ suburbs loses its last church. Paul Curtis: It appears so. Tony Wall: It’s not only Eumundi! Lisa Martin: You don’t need to attend a “house of God” to practice religion or spirituality. Jacqueline Rutland: I suspect Eumundi is more spiritual and

open. Jens Norved: What a great question. Ann Steinhardt: Fond memories of this church. Sunday School every Sunday. Frances Maguire: Not lacking in spirituality.

Sonny Jelkirk: That’s sad. I also predict there will be a resurgence in religious belief in the coming years. Joan Selkirk That’s so sad. Hope they do something good with the building.

CR GREG ROGE RSON Division 10

Boundary changes The Electoral Commission Queensland is currently reviewing the Divisional Boundaries within our Sunshine Coast Regional Council area and there are some monumental changes which appear all but certain to occur. Under these proposed boundary changes, Eumundi would be one of many hinterland towns and communities which would no longer be included in Division 10. The ‘new look’ Division 10 would essentially comprise of Nambour, Bli Bli, Woombye and the far western outskirts of Marcoola and Pacific Paradise. Having served the great town of Eumundi, and around 30 other hinterland communities for the last eight years, I’ve developed a very strong sense for what is important to these areas and the people within them. I would find it incredibly difficult to

suddenly shift my focus away from these communities and onto new areas ahead of next year’s election in March – and I’m sure I speak for all my fellow councillors who face similar changes. Some of you may well be asking, “But Rogo if you’re retiring at next year’s elections, what do you care?” Well, I believe that change for the sake of change is never good and this seismic shift in Divisional Boundaries seems to serve little purpose. Can you imagine the confusion on election day when residents who’ve spent years building a working relationship with their Divisional Councillor to deal with key issues and progress key initiatives and projects in their local area, suddenly have to vote for completely unfamiliar names on their ballot box? In Eumundi alone, it has the potential to create confusion and stall much of the positive

momentum which has been made in recent years on key issues like the continued bituminising of dirt / gravel roads, the upgrades and improvements to the Eumundi Markets and balancing the needs of market stall holders and local residents on contentious issues like parking market days. So, with local government elections only five months away, I urge you to head to the Electoral Commission website ecq.qld.gov.au and familiarise yourself with these proposed boundary changes. Australia Day awards Please don’t miss the opportunity to be recognised or have your community group or organisation recognised for making a difference to the Sunshine Coast. Applications are now open for the 2020 Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards and categories include; Citizen of the Year, Senior

Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community – Group or Organisation, Environment, Creative, Sport and Recreation. Visit sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au for information and submit your nomination by 18 November. Applications open Are you part of a community organisation that needs funding to make something great happen? Then don’t miss the opportunity to make it a reality with support from council’s community grants program. Minor grants of up to $2000 are available for community groups to deliver projects, events and activities that provide community benefit. Eligible local community groups can apply for funding for projects in one of seven categories. Applications close 4 November. sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.

Community K AT I E R O S E C O T TA G E R E S U M E S S E R V I C E Katie Rose Cottage Hospice (KRCH) is a community service that offers an alternative end of life experience. Based in Doonan, the hospice had to suspend its 24/7 services in July, pending the outcome of ongoing funding negotiations with the State Government. The Hospice still had some day services and counselling services

operating but couldn’t offer overnight care. KRCH Chairperson, Carol Raye explained that Noosa MP Sandy Bolton championed the facility and was instrumental in attracting a part-funding agreement with the State Government. Ms Raye said that Ms Bolton helped by lobbying the Minister for Health, Steven

Miles MP, encouraging them to work with KRCH by providing the three-year funding package, similar to that received by other hospices in Queensland. “Getting the ear of government amongst many other competing demands is not easy - passion and perseverance by Sandy and our Hospice team has led to this outcome,” Ms Raye enthused.

R O TA RY S T E P S O U T F O R K AT I E R O S E Eumundi Rotary members, Pam Moffat, Janet Millington and Craig Molyneux (pictured right), walked tall for Katie Rose recently with the trio taking part in the hospice’s inaugural fundraising walk. They joined some 200 keen walkers who signed up to enjoy a stroll in the sunshine by Noosa River and show their appreciation of the quality, specialist care Katie Rose Hospice gives to the terminally ill of the Sunshine Coast. “Our club has been assisting Katie Rose with donations for five

“Every year we hold a Long Lunch with proceeds going to the hospice,” he shared.

Katie Rose chairperson Carol Raye said she was thrilled with the number of walkers on such a gorgeous day. “Our costs are $1.2 million a year and although we have some money from the State Government, income from our Op shops and donations, we still need to hold fundraising events like this,” she said.

It was a happy day with a sausage sizzle, coffee van and plants for sale from the hospice garden. Some people walked from Pirate Park to T-Boat Hire and back. Others strolled with their children some in pushers and pets - all carrying paper forget-me-nots —the symbol for Katie Rose and its message to cherish the memory of loved ones who

“We are ecstatic that we will be recommencing services,” she said. Ms Raye explained that demand for the three bed facility in Doonan is high. “Whilst we had the 24/7 service we were operating at 79% occupancy and at most times had a wait list,” she explained.

Books M A R G A R E T AT W O O D ’ S T E S TA M E N T Margaret Atwood’s latest book, The Testaments, is a favourite on the shortlist for the 2019 Booker Prize, to be announced 14 October. This isn’t the first time for Atwood; she won the Prize for The Blind Assassin and was nominated five other times. The Testaments is a follow up to The Handmaid’s Tale, set 15 years after the end of the first book. There can’t be many people who haven’t heard of The Handmaid’s Tale, either through the original novel in 1985, the 1990’s movie, or the award-winning television series. The bright red cloaks and white wimples have been adopted as a global symbol in the struggle for women’s rights. As a dedicated follower of Atwood for many years, I feel slightly territorial; I knew her first! I saw her speak in Brisbane a few years ago and was impressed with her surprising humour and willingness to engage creatively with audiences. After the television series, I wondered if her unique vision and creativity could survive such overwhelming commercial success. The

Testaments was embargoed (very dramatic!) to be released on the same day all over the world, a bit like Harry Potter books. Not a good sign in the serious literary stakes, but consistent with her irreverent approach. However, after reading The Testaments, I am reassured. Whether it wins the Booker or not, this is a very good book in the Atwood tradition. It manages to straddle the gap between the two books, subtlety referencing the material in the television series in between the two time periods without allowing it to dominate. Atwood skilfully integrates current political and cultural themes and has managed to bend the commercial to her own purpose.

Judith Pattison, Doonan before her time. Each novel is about something people become incredibly interested in half an hour later”. What about this book? Should it win the Booker? I’m not much of a Seer, and I haven’t read the others nominated, but as much as I like it, I’m not yet convinced. Maybe the Nobel is next for her. By the next Green edition, we’ll already know.

As she says about The Testaments and The Handmaids Tale, one of the axioms of both the television series and the novels - in fact all of her speculative fiction - is that “ no event is allowed into it that does not have a precedent in human history”. Is she a Seer? A Prophet? A Sage? The Guardian say, “She’s always

“She is honest, reliable and efficient. I give heartfelt thanks to Candice for the highest standards I have ever experienced in her profession.”

At past fundraising events, the support received by the community has given the school enough funds to supply air conditioning units to half of the school’s classrooms. This fundraising event raised the outstanding amount of money to install air conditioning units to the remaining classrooms.

The school’s principal, Ms Kelly Edgar said the day was a great community building event. “It provided an opportunity to celebrate students’ remarkable musical talents, have lots of fun together and strengthen

After many hours of research and hard work, Eumundi State School Year 6 student Pip

submitted an artwork for the Italian Language Centre Calligram Competition. This competition attracts thousands of entries from across Queensland and required students to create a drawing of “Prendere un gelato in gelateria” (Having an icecream in a parlour). The rules stated that only Italian words relevant to the theme can be used to create the image – no lines or shading! The intricate

and eye-catching artwork (above) is the result. Pip received the Gold Medal and her work is now hanging in the Italian Language Centre, Brisbane.

KID’S SIGN GETS PRIDE OF PLACE

NEW LEARNING CENTRE FOR 2020

Eumundi State School (ESS) students had the opportunity to create a colourful, handpainted sign with local artist Dave Hackett in 2013. After hanging on the temporary fence at the top of the town, the letters were returned to the school and have laid in wait for a new home since.

While we live we grow

EUMUNDI STATE SCHOOL IS EXPANDING. Construction on the new state-of-the-art multi-story Learning Centre is planned to begin this year. Additional classrooms and outdoor learning areas ensure our school can continue to grow and offer a quality educational experience to primary school children.

Last week the signage was hung on the side of the prep classroom at the bottom of the school along Napier Rd. This pride of place also has the benefit of showing of ESS’s creative streak to visitors on the way to the markets.

The Principal would like to invite children from outside of catchment to apply for the extra Prep and primary places now available in 2020. Please call 5472 6333 to book a tour and interview.

Health MO-VEMBER LAUNCH

Cleve Holloway, Eumundi

It’s almost that time again, when the Hinterland men take to the razor and shed their luscious curls from their faces ... Each November we gather together and talk about men’s health - both physical health and mental. This is an issue not just on the Sunshine Coast but throughout Australia - and the world. We also shave our beards and try and grow a Mo (moustache) although for some, it’s not a great look! Men generally don’t seem to like to talk about their emotions or the fact that they might not be feeling the best. All to often we like to say, “It’s okay, it’s not so bad,” and we tend to struggle through. Across the world men die on average six years younger than women. In many cases it’s preventable. Here are a few things that you can do to help or if you feel you need help. 1. Spend time with friends Stay connected. Your mates are important and spending time with them is good for you. Catch up regularly, check in and make time for each other.

2. Talk More You don’t need to be an expert and you don’t have to be the only solution, but being there for someone, listening and giving your time can be lifesaving. 3. Know the numbers At 50, talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and whether it’s right for you to have a PSA test. If you are of African or Caribbean descent or have a father or brother with prostate cancer, you should be having this conversation at 45. Know your numbers, know your risk, talk to your doctor. 4. Get to know your nuts Get to know what’s normal for your testicles. Give them a check regularly and go to the doctor if something doesn’t feel right. 5. Move Add more activity to your day. Do more of what makes you feel good. • Take a walking meeting

• Park further away from the station • Get off the bus a stop or two earlier • Instead of the lift, take the stairs • Cycle to work instead of driving • Play ultimate frisbee – there is a social comp every Wednesday at the Eumundi showgrounds, 4.30 start So Hinterlander’s get involved this Movember! The Imperial Hotel, Memorial Dr, Eumundi, together with The Store, will have a launch night on 1 November, from 5-8pm. Drop down and sign up, drag a mate along with the promise of a beer – or come solo with the promise of a very cool Movember T-shirt and help us make a healthier – connected community of Hinterland men. Your $50 signup fee goes to the Men’s Health cause and you get a fancy shirt, food and $6 schooners of Eumundi Brewery’s craft beer on the night.

Dr Faldt will be taking appointments from the 2ND of September. He will be working with us full-time! New patients welcome!

My Spanakopita recipe

Leanne Staff, Cooroy

Spanakopita is a traditional spinach or silver beet pie with cheese and herbs, encased by crispy, flaky, filo pastry. A great way to use the freshly harvested silver beet that’s in season in the garden. I keep mine really simple so I can throw it together quickly. I also use a squirt of olive oil between my filo sheets instead of lashings of butter –just trying to keep it a little bit healthier – and it is just as effective. The kids love munching on the thin layers of filo once it’s baked. Cover and cook without adding any further water, until just wilted. Drain in a colander and allow to cool slightly.

Ingredients Bunch of silver beet 2 eggs, beaten 200g feta cheese, crumbled 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 1 tsp fresh dill, chopped Olive oil pump bottle 1 x 375g packet of filo pastry Method Wash and drain the silver beet thoroughly, then place in a pan. 14

Combine beaten eggs, feta cheese, chopped onion, parsley and dill, and stir in the silver beet. Squirt the bottom of a baking tin with olive oil. Then place a sheet of filo pastry on base (I use two sheets at a time to save time). Squirt again lightly with oil, place another two sheets on top and repeat until there are about 8-10 layers (or half the packet - use less or more as you prefer). Tuck the

{ T H E G R E E N 16 October 2019

edges down to enclose the filling. Spread the cheese and silver beet mixture over the pastry, then layer the rest of the filo pastry in a similar manner to the first 10 layers. Tuck down to enclose the filling. Score the top of the pastry with a sharp knife and then bake until the top is golden brown and nice and crispy. We like to serve ours hot with a delicious Greek style salad. But it is equally yummy served cold. Also great in a kid’s lunch box.

Heritage MINI CYCLONE IN EUMUNDI 1999 In the history of Eumundi as a town and its surrounding area there have been a number of weather “incidents” including bushfires, floods and storms. Many may recall the rather unusual “mini cyclone”, as it was referred to in March 1999, that mainly targeted three buildings towards the northern end of Memorial Drive – two houses and the Presbyterian church.

Wendy Birrell, Eumundi

The black and white ones were taken for the Eumundi Historical Association for a street survey done in 1998, when most of the houses and businesses in the Eumundi town area were photographed.

At Discover Eumundi we are looking to capture more stories about our houses past and present. Contact us if you would like to help with memories or photos of your house and also

if you know any more about this “mini cyclone” story. info@discovereumundi.com

One of the houses occupied by Olive Rapp, who it’s believed was a Sunday School teacher at the Eumundi Methodist Church (now Discover Eumundi) in the 1970’s, was damaged beyond repair and was finally rebuilt quite a time after the severe storm. A Channel 7 camera crew came to interview those affected by the storm and the Original Eumundi Market manager at the time Tony Wall took the colour photos shown here. Outdoors S H A R I N G S PA R E H A R V E S T Helen Andrew, Maleny On 31 July this year Australia hit its Earth Overshoot Day. On this day we used up all the natural resources that our planet can regenerate within this current year. This deficit is called the ecological overshoot day. (overshootday.org/newsroom/ country-overshoot-days) Not only is our Earth Overshoot Day getting earlier each year, but we are consuming resources as if we have 4.1 earths. Now more than ever we need to reduce our consumption of new resources and more efficiently use resources that already exist. This is the mission of Spare Harvest. Like most grassroots movements, it all starts with a simple problem. Mine was mandarins. After moving to acreage on the Sunshine Coast, I was thrilled by the abundance of fruit trees in my back garden. But when harvest time came, I had way too many mandarins to eat. Despite trying to give them away, I ended up having to bury them. This was an awful experience for me. I decided to do something about the wastage and Spare Harvest was born. Out of this simple story, I’ve created a global sharing movement that anyone, anywhere, can join.

S T R A N G E B A C K YA R D V I S I T O R S Alex Hock Noakes, Year 3, ESS Ignite English It all started when I was exploring my bush yard after the rain, when I suddenly realised I was being distracted by something white that was not usually there. Venturing closer I was inquisitive about this unusual visitor to my yard. I couldn’t believe it, just there was a beautiful, snow flake themed mushroom! I decided to get closer because I wanted to check the mushroom, and I soon found out it had so many features. It had foam like spikes rising out of an umbrella frozen on the moist ground, it was only about eight centimetres. I called my mum to witness this impeccable, amazing structure. We both stood for a very long while in great admiration of nature’s beauty, with my attention being distracted by an idea that popped into my head. I decided to search for many more among my moisty backyard environment. Step by step I walked, stopping to scan the area. As I started to walk again I noticed something almost invisible.

I was intrigued by a large, camouflaged flower, growing from the base of a tree. I did the same as before with the other mushroom, taking a closer look. NEWS

A mini, bright sun, that wasn’t shining, was amongst the grass. It did not seem as big as the other one I recently found but it looked like a yellow toadstool, which it seemed to be. I slowly crept up on it like I was a spy capturing an artefact. As I observed it I saw there were more, smaller ones behind, like follow the leader. The toadstools looked like they had been painted with little, white spots that pop out at you as if it was a pop-up card.

Cont’d from pg 17 They are passionate about saving quality, organic, heritage and viable seeds from local gardeners to share with other local gardeners. Along my backyard journey I found many more but these three were the best. As all that excitement started to fade away I thought about why they came, because mushrooms are like sponges they suck up water, when you feel the bottom of the mushroom’s top it is always moist, unless they’re dead of course. As a weeks passed they continued to change. The snowflake one became higher and its top much wider but still with the small spikes. The invisible one disappeared along with some of the toadstools. It did not take much longer until all the strange visitors had left, maybe the change in the weather helped with this choice to leave. I look forward to the rain returning and my strange backyard visitors too.

The next Eumundi Bushcare meeting will be held on Sun 28 Oct, 8.30 - 11am at the Eumundi Sunken Garden up the top of Pacey St. Bring along any plants you need help identifying. Morning tea provided. New people are always welcome. Facebook: Eumundi Bushcare.

Discover the Noosa Hinterland The Noosa Hinterland is one of the most perfect locations to take advantage of the lifestyle benefits of a tree change without the compromise of isolation. Often families relocating from the major cities have concerns that they will be without the infrastructure that they have come to rely upon, such as schools, shopping centres, medical centres, libraries, cultural pursuits and the like. There is, however, no cause for concern. Conveniently situated within easy reach of the coast, the airport, university and hospitals, the Noosa Hinterland is thriving and full of fabulous attractions and activities. There is rarely not a festival of some sort on the go - be it music with the Gympie Muster or the Imperial Hotel in Eumundi, food with the abundance of regular produce markets and farm trails, the world famous Noosa Everglades, the Noosa Tri, the Writers Festival and many more. Combine this with more unstructured activities such as horse riding, walking, climbing, ambling through the countless art galleries and country townships and you find a fascinating and enthralling mix of the country and urban lifestyles on offer in the Hinterland. Noosa Main Beach and the attractions of Hastings Street are an easy drive away, Professional Centres such as Mooloolaba and Maroochydore provide commercial and industrial services - and Brisbane is under two hours south. So, our Hinterland is worth more than a quick look. It merits a long leisurely visit, and hopefully a desire to move here.
