In Spain, there are thousands of immigrants living on fake products illegal sales, counterfeits of big brands on squares, streets and on beachfronts, becoming this practice their only way to survive in a “False Promised Land” of prosperity and wealth in the European Continent, a reality we look many times at, not wanting to see.
Behind this practice there is also a social reality we shouldn’t ignore. Apparently tidy and healthy youngsters are the last link of organised crime chains, gangs which, besides the obvious crimes against private property, tax fraud or against the National Health Service, they exploit human beings leaving their honour damaged.
This project’s, photographs converted into illustrations, aim is not to justify this kind of activity or illegal commerce, but simply to inform of a social gap with the indifference and complicity of our rulers and authorities, who put pressure on the weakest link of the chain.
