WE
DON’T JUST PROMISE A
VIBRANT,
CARING,
AND SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY, WE LIVE IT.
ETOWN’S STUDENT-CENTERED CULTURE IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO, FROM BEING KNOWN FOR FACULTY MENTORING TO CONNECTING STUDENTS TO NEARBY CITY CENTERS FOR INTERNSHIP AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, TO THE WAY WE INTENTIONALLY BRIDGE COMMUNITY LIFE, SERVICE, ATHLETICS, ARTS, AND ACADEMICS.
ACCESS TO EXCELLENCE
U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review, and Forbes rank us among the top colleges in the nation, and it’s not because we have amazing baked goods in the dining hall (which we do, by the way). It likely has more to do with the support and access we give our students—resources you’ll find invaluable during your time on campus and well into your professional career.
THESE CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL STUDENTS.
CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE
THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER is dedicated to providing students and alumni with a wide range of internship and employment opportunities, information, presentations, and resources related to career development and exploration.
THE CENTER FOR STUDENT SUCCESS offers support programs for students of all abilities, including:
• Academic advising to help you map out an academic plan, schedule courses, and choose your major (or majors!)
• Tutors for writing, specific classes, study skills, time management, and test-taking.
• Disability services to ensure every student has equal access to all our campus has to offer.
THE CENTER FOR COMMUNITY AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT provides opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to engage and deepen their involvement in service in local, national, and international contexts. Based on the belief that learning is most noble when used to benefit others, the Center fosters opportunities for meaningful and reciprocal relationships between Elizabethtown College and the community.
THE CENTER FOR GLOBAL UNDERSTANDING AND PEACEBUILDING provides students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding communities with a greater understanding of conflict transformation through special programs and presentations that explore global issues, cultural empathy, peace, human dignity, and social justice.
THE BOWERS WRITERS HOUSE celebrates creative curiosity, serving as a venue for study, interactive panels, performances, dramatic readings, and intellectual gatherings of all kinds.
THE HIGH CENTER FOR FAMILY BUSINESS , an Etown partner, brings in CEOs, tech experts, and thought leaders to speak on leadership. It’s just one of several relationships the College has with organizations in the community that will enrich your time at Etown.
Educate for Service
MORE THAN JUST A MOTTO
Educate for Service isn’t just a motto—it’s a mindset that shapes how we learn, lead, and connect. You’ll find this commitment in how we show up for each other, engage with our community, and make meaningful choices. Through academic research with realworld purpose, global service-learning, and partnerships with local organizations, you’ll work alongside people who care about making a difference. You won’t just prepare for a career, you’ll shape the impact you want to have on the world. Service isn’t a box to check at Etown. It’s a privilege we choose, together.
“Educate for Service has been deeply embedded in my Etown experience. Having opportunities to participate in service has had an incredible impact on me, and I’m grateful that I have been able to make a difference alongside my fellow Blue Jays.

Meaningful service work at Etown has taken me from Lancaster County to Alabama to Washington, D.C. Everywhere I have gone, the sense of community created by our shared emphasis on service has inspired me and my peers to be our best selves.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME
LIVE
What is the No. 1 thing we hear about our campus? It feels like home. Underclassmen students live in one of our traditional residence halls. Students also have the option to live in Living Learning Communities (LLCs) which provide a residential community where you can easily connect with neighbors who have shared interests, experiences, or academic pursuits. As an upperclassman, residential options expand to include Independent Living Units (ILUs) such as college-owned houses, townhouses, and apartments. Our campus is located in the heart of a small town and our Campus Safety department supports and protects our tight-knit community. Whether it’s providing an escort to where you need to go or transportation off campus, they are there to ensure everyone feels safe, supported, and cared for.
“At Etown, I see the same faces walk by each day. In the hallways, professors stop to talk with me. It is a community like no other, and it feels like home to me.
ANGELYMARIE PACHECO ’26, Environmental Science New York City, N.Y.
EAT
Enjoy all-you-care-to-eat options at the Marketplace. Grab a quick sandwich or sushi at the Jay’s Nest, our convenience store-style shop. Sip a Starbucks® latte at the Blue Bean or a smoothie at the Fresh Nest. We even have our own food truck (the Jay Truck) for late-night snacks. That’s one of the many benefits of serving only homemade food on our campus!
BE WELL
The offices of Counseling Services and Student Health look after your physical, emotional, and psychological health. Licensed counselors offer scheduled appointments and walk-in services for all students. The on-campus Penn Medicine - Elizabethtown College Medical Center offers comprehensive medical care and wellness services. When it comes to maintaining your physical health, visit the Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness & Well-Being. The Bowers Center is also home to the Office of Campus Recreation and Well-Being which offers programs including free group fitness classes, a personal training program, off-campus adventure excursions, and mental health activities.
