Lady hornet all-americans Tara Holloway, a native of Moundridge, Kan., and a forward for the Lady Hornets from 1996-2000, was the CoSIDA NCAA Division II Player of the Year in 2000. She is the third leading scorer in ESU history with 1,839 points. She was a two-time first-team selection in the MIAA and the 2000 MIAA player of the year. During her four-year career, ESU was 111-18, including 91-8 her final three years. She played in an ESU record 14 NCAA tournament games, including the 1998 NCAA Division II championship game.
Jurgita Kausaite, a forward for the Lady Hornets from 1997-99, holds the NCAA Division II record for most field goals in a single tournament with 55 made field goals during during ESU's run to the 1998 national championship game. During her two seasons at E-State, the Lady Hornets won 63 games and advanced to the Final Four each season. Kausaite was a first-team All-American and MIAA player of the year in 1999, leading the Lady Hornets to a 30-3 record her senior year. She transferred to Emporia State after playing two years at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Aneta Kausaite, a forward for the Lady Hornets from 1996-98, was the first player from a NCAA Division II school to play in the WNBA. During her two seasons at E-State, the Lady Hornets arrived on the national scene. In 1997, ESU played in it’s first NCAA tournament and in 1998 advanced to the Division II title game. Kausaite was a first-team All-American and MIAA player of the year in 1998, leading the Lady Hornets to a 33-1 record. She transferred to Emporia State after playing two years at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
