The present portfolio will show urban projects, architectural design, research, maps, analysis and interventions developed in the city of Lima.

City in which I live and that has allowed me to make an urban laboratory of it. I was able to study realities of slums, learn the use and disuse of space, identify its problems and truths, propose solutions, etc.

This process has given me the knowledge and made of my professional process, a perceptive experience and with a desire to know other realities similar or in contrast in the near future.

New Urban Platform

An investment of 3.500 million dollars will be developed in the city of Talara - Piura, in the north of Peru. The Petroperú company is committed to the modernization, development and growth of the Talara Refinery, being one of the oldest in Peru.

The oil canon collected by the Municipality of Talara is once again questioned, not only because of the magnitude of the amount, but because of its use.

The oil canon is the contribution received by regional governments, local governments (provincial and district municipalities) from the total income obtained by the Peruvian State for the economic exploitation of oil and are exclusive for the financing of public investment projects.

In this context, Talara is facing a new period full of opportunities for change and modernization.

As well as the improvement of the current city and the prevention of disasters such as maritime phenomena, water floods, tsunamis or others.

In this context, I will present an analysis and master plan based on the use of Big Data from the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru; and an urban proposal, based on the intelligent decisions of mapping by geographical information systems, in order to make Talara a compact, inclusive, sustainable, safe, healthy, attractive, orderly and efficient city in its future.

GROWTH OF THE BARRIDADA

Ermitaño is one of the first barriadas (slums) of Lima that was envisioned as a new way of life in the hills of the city. Since 1969, the challenge of its inhabitants has not been the lotification, but the densification of their homes to supply the family.

The biggest problem with the slum is the lack of open spaces, recreation and vegetation.

The futuristic proposal contemplates this problem by 2030 and proposes the erection of mega autonomous structures, under the concept of the balloon, that arise from each park found and serve to satisfy needs as a living and selfsufficient organism.

The expansion divided into four major stages of privatization, expansion, consolidation and legalization of informal human settlement shows the accelerated but organized process of occupation of the territory.

Mapping the neighborhood of La Victoria.

A mapping process was developed with the open database of the Ministry of Education of Peru and the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics, to be able to know the history of variables of the emblematic and commercial district of La Victoria.

La Victoria is one of the most violent and informal neighborhoods in Peru. But because of its central location it is one of the richest in information, problems and opportunities.

The variables and radios of influence of education, massive transport system, open spaces and green areas, cultural or popular centers, points of evidence of violent acts, among others, were identified. The intelligent mapping allowed us to identify the different areas to be intervened, according to their importance, emergency or stage of development.

The social space of neighborhood learning, in the famous and historic neighborhood of San Cosme, will respond to three fundamental elements of its composition: 1. the topography, representing the lost landscape; 2. the urban scale, manifesting its current condition and 3. the anthropic role, the intervention of man in the selfconstruction of his home and neighborhood.

La Toma de Partido del Cerro San Cosme responde a dos elementos fundamentales de su composición: la topografía, representando al paisaje perdido; y el tejido, manifestando su condición actual. Ambas variables forman la esencia del entendimiento del cerro y el rol del usuario con acciones antrópicas que han modelado el contexto actual, durante más de 80 años.

La relación de la Toma de Partido respecto al Marco teórico se entiende de la siguiente manera: Las teorías que envuelven al cerro totalmente son la de Transformación de Sistemas Sociales; entendiendo el carácter del cerro, actualmente y en el planteamiento urbano, como un sistema que integra todos sus elementos y funcionan entre si.

La segunda teoría relacionada al cerro como todo es la de Entropía Social, que, mediante la posición de hallar y entender el orden en el desorden de un sistema, aplica al tejido y asentamiento del lugar. Resultante una variable fundamental al momento de iniciar el diseño del proyecto: La Huella como memoria o vestigio de la existencia previa de una edificación.

Las últimas dos teorías se relacionan en un nivel más íntimo con la zona de estudio: Espacios In Between se aplicará al análisis de los espacios de vida o espacios de relación encontrados en el cerro, siendo estos puntos potenciales de cambio en las relaciones personales de los habitantes del cerro San Cosme, ya que también son aquellos lugares en los que el vicio y delincuencia se forman.

En el Contexto que refiere San Cosme, la materia prima es el lleno tugurizado, considerando al vacío en espacios residuales y olvidadas; pero de suma importancia. Es por eso que se rescata el vacío actual y se lo convierte en el núcleo del proyecto, como espacio materializado; concretando la forma del edifcio como una continuacion de la topografia, volumnes geometrizados y de forma limpia que conecten los lotes vecinos con el Colegio.

En el proyecto, el espacio vacío tiene una voz, un valor intrínseco mayor al del lleno. Heidegger, en su conferencia:Construir-Habitar-Pens ar, de 1951; dibuja tres puntos cardinales sobre los que se cimientan las bases de la arquitectura. Considerando al vacío como la materia prima de la arquitectura. Ya sea contenido entre terrazas y volúmenes elevados (volados).

Al desarrollar el orden formal de la propuesta se debe considerar en primer lugar, la proyección del Anillo Verde como eje distribuidor del proyecto y conector del mismo con todo el sistema del Cerro San Cosme. En segundo lugar, se continuarán los caminos y accesos del cerro existentes para articular la trama y poder integrar el proyecto al contexto.

Finalmente se delimitará la topografia recuperada como superficie formal del proyecto, creando un edificio topografico, expresado por niveles y terrazas.

Master Plan: “Overflowing the river” 2016 Cycle 8 of career: Landscaping.

Topic Recovering urban public spaces.

Place Rimac River, Lima - Perú.

“Overflowing the river” arises from an investigation that analyzed the urban edge of the Rímac River, as a point of rupture and vulnerable public space at a morphological level. The border area of the districts was studied: Cercado de Lima and Rímac.

In search of finding the particularities that occur in this area, with the objective of observing, studying and formulating conclusions that allow us to understand the lack of urban connection, the disuse as public space and critical point between both districts.

The research established the possibilities and potentialities of public spaces on a micro scale and projected a macro regeneration of the Rímac River as a great space for leisure and recreation.

Also like the recovery of the relation city and territory in both districts; and the improvement of the urban façade for the district of Rímac, which would later allow the development of an urban plan that integrates not only the river border with both districts, but also invites to continue the journey through the district of Rímac in order to activate it and make it as interesting and tourist as Lima’s fence.

Master Plan: “New San Cosme” 2016 Cycle 8 of career: Slums Topic Understanding the other faces of Lima Place San Cosme Hill, La Victoria - Lima, Perú.

The informality, chaos and vulnerable space that characterize the San Cosme slum are reason enough to analyze it as a critical point of the city and as a possible urban intervention of metropolitan level.

Located in the district of La Victoria, San Cosme has an area of 5.04 km2 and 7000 inhabitants. In addition to 2% of free area and 0.7% of non-green area, which indicates the state of emergency presented by the neighborhood.

Urban measures have been taken before the chaos and possible first case of urban emergency in the city of Lima, but none of them has had a positive impact in the area, due to the discontinuity and disconnection that the neighborhood presents with respect to its surroundings.
