This bear has a need for speed!
This Pancake Day our own Erik the Espace Bear took part in the iconic Lichfield Shrovetide Pancake Races!
Taking to the streets of Lichfield, Erik flipped pancakes and dashed to the finish line. Sadly our bear is not as composed as our freight network, as he dropped his pancake! Nevertheless a sprint finish secured 2nd place in his heat.
Erik made some friends along the way, all to connect with and support Lichfield businesses.

Better Never Stops - Thanks to Our People
In our last newsletter, we shared how we’ve been giving back and over the past six months, we’ve taken it a step further.
We picked up our litter grabbers and joined Burntwood #LitterHeroes, who’ve cleared over 1,000 bags of rubbish near Espace House. We also donated high-vis jackets to help keep more local pickers safe on their rounds.
The team pulled together food donations for the local food bank at Emmanuel Church, Chase Terrace, along with a contribution to help support families in need. Huge thanks to the volunteers there and also to the team at Onit Direct for sorting us out with delivery crates.
We wore our colours proudly for #FootballShirtFriday always a highlight.
And in May, to mark a year since we lost our colleague and friend Pete Allen, some of the team (plus a few four-legged companions) hiked up the Wrekin. Pete once famously drove around the Wrekin with our Ops Director, Vanessa so we thought we’d do one better and climb it.
We’re also continuing to support Pete’s friend Karen Cartlidge, who climbed Everest last year and is still ‘Walking for Pete’ with the Inca Trail and Kilimanjaro next on her list.
Just a few things we’ve been up to lately and a big thanks to everyone who’s been part of it.
Multimodal returned to the NEC Birmingham from 17–19 June and this year’s show had more energy than ever. It felt like one big logistics family, full of great conversations, shared challenges, and fresh ideas.
We were set up in our usual spot in the BIFA Village, surrounded by fellow forwarders, and as always, it was good to catch up with others who live and breathe this industry.
With sustainability front of mind, we brought EspaceTV along to hear how others are approaching it and to share our own perspective too. Kelly hit the floor to speak with people from all corners of the supply chain asking just two leading questions:
“What are you doing to champion sustainable logistics?”
“What do you love about logistics?”
The responses were thoughtful, practical, and full of the passion that keeps this industry moving forward.
You can catch the full interviews over on our social channels. Did you spot Erik The Bear having a well deserved drink?
A 25TH BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER AT CARDEN PARK
On June 20th the Espace co-owner team headed in high spirits to the wonderful Carden Park in Cheshire.
The team enjoyed some welcome drinks and after glamming up in the hotel room, sitting down for a delicious three course meal , drinks and some choice dancing.
The morning after our team partook in a number of challenges, including laser clay pigeon shooting and human hungry hippos!
Ahead of the party, we put together a special anniversary video montage featuring messages from former Espacians, including some from our very first office on Brittannia Park, sending their best wishes to the team. A big shout out to all those that have played a part in our Espace journey.
