Infolettre officielle d’Espace d’Expressions et de Création Volume 17, No 73, December 2022 – January 2023

The more time passes, the calendar of celebrations has not changed much. As usual, we head into the end of the year period as soon as we finish with costumes of all kinds, distributions and picking of treats, sweets to our youth and adults on Halloween and after the digestion of the Thanksgiving turkey. Moreover, merchants and radio stations come together to make us vibrate at this pace with sales and the famous Christmas songs.

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to thank you for a great year of success. You have to recognize and be able to say out loud again, we will manage to give ourselves a positive balance sheet with collective exhibitions, individuals and workshops as part of the culture days

We must return to the balance sheet, we can not leave in silence the launch of our local which took place in May.We were able to see the motto of our country, Haiti darling, unity is strength. Because everyone was putting their hand to the paw to make this opening a real party and a success. An evening during which aesthetics, beauty and gourmet met.

And the year 2023 won't be too different. We will start it very well, as we usually do to meet the expectations of lovers of art and culture. Depending on the program, we will have it will be exciting and very loaded with artistic projects. Already, in the aftermath of the Epiphany we will have to start the four projects for Black History Month. Moreover, Espace d'Expressions et de Creation and Georges Laoun Opticien join forces for a fourteenth edition of Black History Month at Georges Laoun Opticien stores curated by Jennifer Laoun-Rubenstein, including a solo exhibition by our manager Joseph André at the store on Sherbrooke Street, February 7th to 25th March, 2023. You will have to admire works by a few artists at the Julio-Jean-Pierre Library from January 13 to February 21st, 2023 and it would be possible that we would celebrate Black History Month in the office of my MP, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau with a renewal of our exhibition collectively.

Needless to say, we are already concocting a whole program with a menu including our traditional exhibition composed of fifty visual artists, poetry, dance and music during the evening of our opening always on Saint-Denis Street. There will be everything for the eyes, ears and your sense of taste. If you don't want to miss anything, just follow us through social media.

Plus, it smells like partying. It is enough to note the events organized around this period of festivities. It is undeniable that we are ready to feast properly despite inflation and flu falling on us. During the last month, we were able to tour the exhibitions and other data given by our ami.es artists like Jennifer Laoun-Rubenstein gave a workshop on creation at the Maison de la culture Marie-Uruguay.

There is something new at the Espace d'Expressions et de Creation’s, it will be our pleasure to welcome you to visit our permanent exhibition in our space located at 950 rue du Rosaire, Montreal H2R 3B1. Simply call us at 514 813-6068 for your next visit.
