She was officially declared to be in remission in June 2017, following chemotherapy treatments and a surgery.

said David Hamburg, regional public information officer with NYSDOT. Construction is underway for this project and is contracted through Economy Paving Co. Inc. out of Cortland. Reconstruction will cost $2.3 million and is expected to be completed by November.

Motorists will not have to take alternate routes during this construction, said Hamburg, “Traffic will be maintained on site, controlled by flaggers and single lane, alternating traffic between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. When work is completed each day, traffic will be restored to 2 lanes.”

The merge of routes 28 and 357 in Franklin has been deemed one of the top 10 most dangerous intersections in Delaware County, according to town of Franklin Supervisor Jeff Taggert. Here, at the bottom of a steep hill and around the bend of a long-stretched turn, motorists travelling from three directions cross paths at high speeds and poor visibility. These safety concerns are the factors that originally prompted the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) to install a traffic circle at this location. “The layout and speed limit of the modern roundabout has proven to reduce the number and severity of accidents.
