With the recent pandemic, there has been greater focus on outdoor activities for individuals and families. The City of Escondido has worked diligently to provide a wide array of outdoor opportunities and park amenities to the public. Through our Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget and other funding sources, the City has been able to resurface all of the tennis courts at Kit Carson Park, Washington Park, and Mountain View Park. In addition to tennis, a few of the courts at each location have been striped to include pickleball. These outdoor activities are perfect to support physical distancing and improve health and wellbeing. On the front cover of this issue, we feature our tennis instructor, Don Pham, who is testing out the new court surfaces. Check out his tennis lessons for all ages and skill levels from beginner to advanced. So let’s get out there and play a little!
