global. BE

Being global means embarking on a journey that will transform you personally and professionally.
We believe that changing the world starts by seeing it. Your unique perspective, honed through your studies abroad, sets you apart in an increasingly competitive job market. But beyond professional and academic growth, studying abroad also gives way to personal transformation. Once you see the world through the eyes of people who think and feel differently than you do, you can build understanding and relationships that impact the world.
Being global is about discovering who you are in the context of a larger world, forging connections that transcend borders, and becoming a catalyst for positive change.

CHOOSE YOUR adventure.

FACULTY-LED PROGRAMS
Faculty-led programs are conducted by KSU faculty and are designed for KSU students. Programs can be 2 to 7 weeks long and are primarily offered during the summer. By completing a program in the summer, you can get ahead on courses for required general education or major specific areas. These programs have set itineraries designed around the course content for studying in the field. They also usually include a “program fee” that includes accommodations, some meals, excursions, and more.

BECOME immersed.

EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
KSU has partnered with institutions around the world to offer reciprocal immersive exchange programs. Exchanges are semester or year-long experiences where KSU students can study at a partner institution abroad and, in exchange, a student from the partner institution can study at KSU.
As part of the exchange program, students pay KSU tuition and fees for full-time enrollment and take their courses at the partner institution. Most courses are taught in English. These programs allow you to be immersed in a new culture while earning credit toward graduation.

GETTING AHEAD & getting away.

ACADEMIC CREDIT
All KSU study abroad programs offer KSU academic credit through courses, most of which are taught in English, so the world can become your classroom!
All faculty-led programs receive KSU course credit through predetermined courses. The exchange programs receive KSU course credit through equivalencies determined with help from your Academic Advisor and the Academic Department for all courses taken at the host institution.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

All programs require students to be in good academic and disciplinary standing to participate, but some have set academic eligibility requirements higher than the minimum.
Exchange programs, international internships, and directed studies require a higher institutional GPA to be eligible to participate.
Eligibility critera may also be determined at the program level, including prerequisites for courses.

is within reach.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID
Global Education has several awards available to help students afford their education abroad programs, including a number of study abroad specific scholarship opportunities. Traditional financial aid opportunities are also available.
In addition to what Global Education offers, the Office of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships at KSU helps students identify and apply for competitive external funding opportunities for research, advanced study, international travel, and more.
