EDUCATION ABROAD
YOU WILL BE
global.
KSU believes that changing the world starts by seeing it. Your unique perspective, honed through your studies abroad, sets you apart in an increasingly competitive job market. But beyond professional and academic growth, studying abroad is about personal transformation. Once you see the world through the eyes of people who think and feel differently than you do, you can build understanding and relationships that impact the world. Being global is about discovering who you are in the context of a larger world, forging connections that transcend borders, and becoming a catalyst for positive change.

KSU Italy began in 1999 as a single study abroad program, quickly expanding its reach to serve all of our academic colleges. Since 2013, KSU has held an educational site in the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, Italy, known as the largest hill town in southern Tuscany.
KSU Italy operates classes out of a historic medieval fortress (“The Fortezza”) in the Tuscan hilltop town of Montepulciano, Italy. Students live in locally owned apartments and experience the rich traditional Italian culture right outside their doorsteps while taking KSU coursework. Come see for yourself why Montepulciano has been a home-away-from-home for over 20 years to fellow KSU Owls, faculty, and staff.

ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE
We’ve been told we are competitive... And you’ve got that right! From building formula race cars to aerial robotics and steel bridges — if there’s an opportunity to show off student talent, we are in. Take, for example, our Hydraulic Bike Team that sped past the competition to take first place in the 2024 Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge Competition. Designed to promote original thinking in a competitive setting, this challenge combines two technology platforms that are not normally associated with one another — human-powered vehicles and fluid power. ksuhub.com/fluidpower
KENDAL ELISON, HONORS COLLEGE
DOUBLE OWL
KSU lacrosse player Kendal Elison brings the same focus and determination to the classroom as she does to the field. A junior in the Journey Honors College, she balances a dual major in computer science and software engineering with a full athletic schedule. Her love for tech began at a fourth-grade coding camp that grew into a passion for emerging technologies. That early spark, along with support from her professors and teammates, helped her earn College Sports Communicators All-District honors. Kendal plans to pursue a graduate degree in data analytics and use performance data to support decision-making in sports. Whether she’s debugging code or defending a goal, Kendal is all about strategy, resilience, and impact. ksuhub.com/Kendal
