The size is 18 inches x 24 inches and this was made in grade 12. My influence for this independent piece is that nature was here long before us and you can find trees that are over 100 years old. I made the tree in my painting immortal to represent that trees can live forever. There are many trees that are being taken down when they shouldn’t be because they are a place for animals to live and a source of food. I just wanted to show that we should let the trees live.
I used a lot of variety of colours and heavy paints with different strokes to make the patterns of the leaves on the tree to make the element of texture. I also used the element of unity because everything in the art piece looks like it fits together. With using the circles for the tree leaves I am using the element of rhythm showing it is a repeated pattern.
