John Gamboa is a veteran community activist. His advocacy work began in 1968 when he became involved with the anti-Vi- etnam War and Civil Rights movements. While attending UC Berkeley, he started doing community activities around racial discrimination. He launched the Latino Issues Forum, which focused on the economic injustices that Latinx people faced, and then later The Greenlining Institute, a multi-ethnic coalition focused on combating redlining practices. Since 2006, John has served as President of the Board of Directors of California Community Builders (CCB) alongside colleagues from Greenlining. The Two Hundred is an initiative of CCB and focuses primarily on mitigating the growing racial wealth gap through homeownership and home building in California. Prominent members include Elaine Brown, a former leader of the Black Panther Party; Joe Coto, former chair of the Latino Legislative Caucus; Herman Gallegos, the co-founder of National Council of La Raza, now known as UnidosUS, and attorney Jennifer Hernandez of the law firm Holland and Knight. The group’s activism efforts include a groundbreaking civil rights lawsuit against the California Air Resources Board. Currently the Chair of Community Consumer Defense League (CCDL), an organization to address the predatory banking actions by numerous CA and US banks.

Jeffrey Wright is a native of Richmond, California and has been a resident of El Cerrito, California for 36 years. He has been licensed by the California Department of Real Estate since 1979. Jeff began his real estate career working as a real es- tate salesperson at his late father’s real estate office, Centu- ry 21 Wright Realtors, in El Cerrito. He is a 1983 graduate of San Francisco State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a specializa- tion in Real Estate. Over the course of his 44-year career in real estate he has helped numerous individuals and families successfully buy and sell real estate. He has handled real es- tate matters on behalf of attorneys, conservators, trustees, investors, banks, and government and municipal agencies. His industry service includes serving as the President of the West Contra Costa Association of Realtors, on the Executive Com- mittee and Board of Directors of the California Association of Realtors. He has chaired and served on many real estate re- lated committees and task forces. His community service is currently comprised of serving as the Vice Chair of the Board for the Richmond Rescue Mission, as a County Planning Com- missioner for Contra Costa County, immediate Past-President and board member of the El Cerrito Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member of the Richmond Museum Association. He and his wife Tyra are the parents of two adult children, a son who resides in Bangkok, Thailand and a daughter who lives in Berkeley, California.

Leah Rothstein is co-author, with Richard Rothstein, of Just Action, a sequel to The Color of Law. While in The Color of Law, Mr. Rothstein described how government policy created residential segregation, Just Action will describe how local community groups can begin to redress the wrongs of segregation. Leah has worked on public policy and community change, from the grassroots to the halls of government. She has led the Alameda and San Francisco probation departments’ research on reform- ing community corrections policy and practice to be focused on rehabilitation, not punishment. She has been a consultant to nonprofit housing developers, cities and counties, redevelopment agencies, and private firms on community development and affordable housing policy, practice, and finance. Her policy work is informed by her years as a labor and community organizer, working on issues such as housing, environmental justice, workplace safety, and youth leadership.
