Smith, who has nearly 25 years of experience in the grocery industry, joined SUPERVALU in 1987 and was most recently the company’s senior vice president, finance, for eight years and also served as vice president, corporate controller and treasurer. Smith has been active in key initiatives of the company, including acquisitions and business realignment activities.

Smith is a certified public accountant and began her career in public accounting with McGladrey and Pullen, serving primarily manufacturing and financial institution clients. Smith is a member of the Board of Trustees for Washburn Center for Children, a non-profit organization located in Minneapolis and is a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Cloud State University Foundation.
