Dear friends of Ensemble Resonanz, Âťto compose like Beethoven is impossible today, but one should think in the same manner as he composedÂŤ (Adorno). There are few orchestras that reflect this spirit of musical awakening to such an extent as the Ensemble Resonanz. Hamburg as a music city can consider itself very fortunate to have this unique orchestra within its sphere. The fact that these musicians carry the spirit of Hamburg into the whole world is another precious gift. And now this orchestra will also play at the opening concert of the Elbphilharmonie Chamber Music Hall - the secret jewel of the house - and act from now on as its Ensemble in Residence. This chamber hall with its excellent and adaptable architecture is perfect for the Ensemble, which in the opening season will offer a programme focusing on the encounter with the unknown. The home of the Ensemble will remain the resonanzraum with equally excellent acoustics in the bunker of St. Pauli - appealing to the local milieu and the classical concert audience at the same time.
