2023 AIG will be August 2023 9th Opening Ceremonies in Edmonton AB and games for August 9th to 19th, 2023. Was announced that Skateboarding will be the “new sport” added this year!
Main team sports of basketball, volleyball, softball, ball hockey, baseball and lacrosse will be four (4) days each with the 4th day being the later play-off rounds. Registration will be out within the next 3 to 4 weeks.
Calgary, Lethbridge, Blood Tribe/Cardston, Siksika/Strathmore, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray in the past 4 years you’ve all expressed interest in wanting our Games to leave Edmonton and be brought to your communities!
Now here is your chance! This first step of 2023 Bid process is here open for any communities in Alberta (including the city of Edmonton to keep our Games there). This is the official 2023 AIG BID Interest Form!
Those cities/towns/communities that fill this interest form out will be emailed Official 2023 AIG Bid Package soon after they submit the interest form. Earlier the better for planning to submit bid for deadline. Deadline for bid submission is in the bid package you will be emailed after you submit this interest form! Deadline for interest form is 11:59pm May 6th, 2022.
We are announcing the 2023 AIG Location during our 2022 AIG Closing Ceremonies on August 18th so the sooner you get the bid package the more time to work on it.
2023 AIG will have an estimated 3500-4000 athletes and 4500-5000 athletes/coaches/ chaperones plus all the officials, families and spectators for our 15 sports and 8 day event! All details are within the form. https://forms.gle/m1iBqVU8R6f5qkLN7
