A chicken barbecue will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. until sold out at Stauffers of Kissel Hill, 301 Rohrestown Road, Lancaster. It is being sponsored by the Marine Corps League Detachment 294 of Lancaster County and the Auxiliary Detachment 274. The set cost includes a halfchicken and a baked potato from Charlie’s Chicken, a roll and butter, applesauce, a beverage, and dessert. Half-chickens may also be purchased individually for a separate cost. The Marine Corps League is a nonprofit organization that meets at 2340 Ironville Pike, Columbia. Family First Health held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new dental center, 430 Walnut St., Columbia, on Sept. 17. The event was livestreamed on social media and featured Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center executive director Beverly Shank, who welcomed the new dental center to the Columbia community. Family First Health president/CEO Jenny Englerth, vice president of dental services Dr. LaJuan Mountain, and board chair Rob Bernhard also gave remarks. The facility provides access to primary dental care for clients of all ages. It offers comprehensive services, including dentures, root canals, traditional restorations, and preventive care with cleanings, X-rays, and sealants. The center has 12 treatment rooms, a team of five dentists, and support staff. Family First Health welcomes all residents in and around Columbia to establish a dental home at the center. Englerth noted that Family First Health Columbia Dental Center has received strong support from the community, including CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health, which made a major donation of equipment to outfit the treatment rooms. Women’s Bible Study To Meet Change of Pace Central Women’s Bible study fall session will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays beginning Oct. 1.
