Cornwall is home to a wealth of pubs that welcome weary travellers to relax whilst their furry friends curl up beneath the table.
A
t this time of year, where better to retire than the local pub, with the fire roaring, classic foodie favourites on the menu and your chosen Cornish tipple available on draught. Fortunately, with Cornwall becoming more dog friendly by the year, there is an abundance of pooch-friendly pubs welcoming humans and hounds alike with open arms.

THE SHIP INN
What could be better than a nice cold drink and a hearty bite to eat after a day spent roaming golden sands and Cornish cliff paths with your four-legged friend? The Ship Inn Porthleven is a firm favourite with locals, visitors and their dogs all year round. Wander on up to the Crow’s Nest for some outside seating with a view of the harbour, or head on inside and get cosy by the fire – a fantastic place for warming toes and paws while sipping a local ale to go with The Ship’s famous fish and chips. There might even be some doggy treats to hand.

THE VICTORIA INN
Set in the heart of the quiet, coastal village of Perranuthnoe, The Victoria Inn is ideally situated to explore west Cornwall with your pooch. With award-winning food, fine wines, good local ales and Cornish cider on offer, the menu utilises the excellent wealth of local produce available each season. Dogs and muddy boots are welcome in the bar and garden, and even though the full menu isn’t on offer for your furry friend, there are biscuits for them behind the bar. With a roaring fire in the winter and a south-facing, enclosed terraced garden for the warmer months, this inn really is for all seasons. www.victoriainn-penzance.co.uk
