Birth: December 19, 1929. Bolívar - Venezuela.

Painter and caricaturist. Son of Enrique Pérez Ytriago, merchant and collector of sarrapia. During his childhood, he participated in excursions to the jungle to collect this product; he drew the characters of Caicara del Orinoco, decorated the bars and made drawings for the lottery of local animals. In 1945 he traveled to Caracas to study painting at the School of Plastic and Applied Arts, where he was a student of Marcos Castillo, Rafael Monasterios and Juan Vicente Fabbiani, among others. In 1946 he published his first caricature in the famous Fantoches magazine. In 1951 he received the Arturo Michelena Prize with the Church of San Agustín. He was part of the Free Workshop of Art and he joined the last stage of the Los Disidentes group until 1952, when he travels to Rome, where he meets Renato Gutusso and has close contact with social realism. He traveled to Paris in 1952 and studied mural painting and lithography at the School of Fine Arts. In 1955 he received the Arturo Michelena Prize with Composition; that year he represents Venezuela in the III São Paulo Biennial. In 1956 he exhibited together with Luis Guevara Moreno and Jacobo Borges in the MBA, in a sample that showed an identification with the social figurative movement, in the face of constructivist tendencies; from then on it is related to the new figuration. In 1967 he obtained the National Painting Prize for Game Reserve (GAN collection), a mosaic of political criticism. That year he made an exhibition that roamed the nuclei of the UDO of Carúpano (Edo. Sucre) and Cumaná, Puerto La Cruz, Maturín and Ciudad Bolívar. Between 1970 and 1972 he is part of the Presencia group. In this last year, he rejects the National Prize for Plastic Arts awarded by the MBA (I Salon of Visual Arts in Venezuela) and participates in the Latin American Plastic Meeting (Casa de las Américas, Havana). In 1979 he received the Andres Perez Mujica Award of the XXXVII Arturo Michelena Salon with El lizard of Sarisariñama, collage made in acrylic on canvas. In 1980 he represents Venezuela again at the Venice Biennial, together with Oswaldo Subero and participates, along with Luis Guevara Moreno and Pedro León Zapata, in the collective exhibition "Caracas, face to face" (MACC). In 1985, the book Of Certain Creole Animals by Guillermo Morón was published and illustrated by the artist. In 1986, he traveled to the Plastic Arts Festival of Baghdad (Iraq) and, in 1987, his exhibition "Portraits of the Liberator" traveled through Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Curacao, Aruba and Haiti. In 1992 he published Orinoco, ironic and oneiric (Caracas: National Academy of History). In 1993 he illustrated the book of stories by Josefina Urdaneta Los puntos cardinales and Juan de Cumarebo.
