NATIONWIDE

APPLICANT SENTIMENT INDEX™ REPORT ABOUT THE INDEX As part of our standard application process, we ask every applicant to answer a set of questions anonymously so we can measure favorable or unfavorable sentiment towards a couple parts of the job seeker’s local employment landscape. To determine how workers feel about the quantity of open jobs available locally, we ask applicants to answer the following question: I believe the number of open jobs in my local area is _______. • Increasing • Staying the same • Decreasing

HOW DO JOB SEEKERS FEEL ABOUT THE NUMBER OF OPEN JOBS IN YOUR AREA?

Increasing

Decreasing

The Applicant Sentiment Index closed out 2017 with 88% of respondents saying the number of opportunities available to them is increasing or staying the same, a 2% increase from the same time last year. If that upward trend is any indication of what 2018 has in store for us, then yes, it’s still a candidate’s market. Total responses collected in 2017 equal 90,944.
