Trump Updates Travel Ban with Another Executive Order

President Donald Trump signed an executive order March 6 updating the travel ban on migrants from mainly Muslim nations, the biggest change was removing Iraq from the original ban, as reported by CNN. The revision comes six weeks after the original ban was put in order and eventually stopped by a federal court. The new ban will start March 16 with no more restrictions on travel on Iraq reported USA Today. The updated ban will not be subjected to people who hold current visas and drops the ban on Syrian refugees, the update also made it clear the ban was not for people who are lawful permanent residents according to CNN. Attorney General Jeff Sessions talked about theycould not risk the nation’s safety by allowing visitors in the county when their governments don’t or can’t release information that will help the US check them properly or when those governments actively supports terrorism. Hundreds of Montebello High students staged a walkout on the 2nd to Protest the recent actions of the Montebello Unified School DIstrict. From the 20 minute walk from the high school to the unified school district building, protesters were chanting their disapproval with phrases such as “Rojas no Mas”,”Where is the money” and “our district is corrupt”.
