£12,650 pa (pro-rata to FTE £14,758 pa) Point 5 on the University Pay Scale
Days/Hours of work:
30 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum
Term-Time -
10 hours per shift, 3 nights per week Mon, Tues, Wed; 10pm – 8am
Vacation -
6 hours per shift, 5 nights per week Mon – Fri; 6pm - Midnight

Responsible for the Campus Shop during unsociable hours Shelf filling and merchandising Serving Customers Operating till and cash effectively Identifying low stock levels on products Ability to deal with difficult situations Communicating any problems to the Campus Shop Manager Delivering excellent levels of customer service to customers Identifying any health and safety issues that arise when on shift Carry out stock checks if required. Any other duty that is considered reasonable and mutually agreed
These duties are a guide to the work that the post holder will initially be required to undertake. Other duties or a change of duties may be necessary from time to time. The duties do not form part of the contract of employment. It is important to know that you will be expected to participate in any training programme considered relevant to your job. The Students’ Union expects all staff to participate and take ownership of their Induction, Appraisal, Departmental Staff Meetings, Training and Networking opportunities and be responsible for reading the rules and conditions of service contained in the Staff Handbook. 2
A condition of employment is that all staff are expected to assist in key events throughout the year e.g. Summer Ball, Freshers Fair and any other key event, including elections, if necessary. Staff are expected to portray a positive image, both internally and externally of the Students’ Union by displaying high standards of service, integrity, punctuality, politeness and professionalism.
