Elk Valley Christian High School Softball Congratulations to our Elk Valley Christian softball girls who brought home the championship win in the WV Christian Athletic Tournament (WVCAT)! They first defeated Grace Christian 23-8 in the semi-finals. Next, they secured the championship win over Cross Lanes Christian with a score of 16-14.

It was a close game with Cross Lanes Christian scoring six runs in the fourth inning. Elk Valley Christian fought back hard, however, and secured the victory. Coaches are David Swor, Brian Evans & PR Burdette.

Elkview Middle School headed to the Kanawha County Middle School Softball Tournament and brought home the championship! They defeated Dupont 17-2 in 5 innings to claim the winning title. Also, they finished the season as regular season champions with a perfect 13-0 record!

The Explore the New Manufacturing Program announced that Chaz Bentley from Herbert Hoover High School has been recognized with an Emerging Elite in Manufacturing Award for his work in the classroom. Bentley has excelled as a leader in his Carver Career and Technical Education Center courses and will receive a $500 award designated for scholarships, certification fees, or specialty equipment. He will also be presented with a commemorative plaque and gift basket featuring products made in WV. Procter & Gamble Company, a Gold Patron, along with Technimark, a Bronze Patron, are sponsors of the 2022 awards.

Congrats to Ben Franklin Pre-Nursing Graduating Class
The Pre-Nursing Graduating Class of 2022 from Ben Franklin Career Center completed their clinical rotations for Certified Nursing Assistant. Congratulations to Abbigail Harless and Ciara Craft from Herbert Hoover High School. All pre-nursing graduating seniors were successfully placed on the Nurse Aide Registry for the State of WV.
