BINGO!! Nope, it never gets old to me. You guys, maybe? But it has worked; we got a couple of new folks out doing their part.

I welcome you to the Chair of the Leading Knight, whose mo o is Charity. One of the things I really like about Bingo are the people, and their willingness to work together for the be erment of the Lodge. Is that two things? Anyway, they may not know what good they’re doing for our communi es through our Charity Commi ee, unless they are coming to the mee ngs and seeing some of the great folks and organiza ons that the Bingo money is helping. But even if they don’t, they work together for that common goal: Our Lodge. It’s going to be a couple of hard years for us now that we’ve sold our Lodge. I will tell you right up front, I was strongly in the camp to stay where we are. But now that we are on the move, we need to band together, as a lodge, to build the best damn lodge possible. We have sold our lodge; it’s me to move on together. And it will take all of us working together to do that. What a concept… working together. I for one have things that I would like to see in our new lodge: Be er Internet, a smoking area for our Bingo players so they can smoke and play like they do now, an RV lot and a Tiki Bar on the roof. Not sure which, of any of these, we’ll end up with, but I’m throwing out some ideas for MY new lodge. What would you like to see in your new lodge? Have you bounced around some ideas with your friends, or are you s ll moping that we should have stayed where we are? Time to move forward and get involved in making our new lodge great. My sugges ons may not be important to you, but I’m going to be pu ng my ideas forward for considera on and so should you. We can only do this if we work together. If I don’t get be er Internet, I’ll be OK with that. I’ll just keep campaigning for that Tiki Bar. See, my Mother told me, ‘Ya go a have hopes of shoo ng for the moon and trying to get a li le piece of the earth.’ Smart woman. Mine will be a Tiki Bar on the roof. And yours? Be like the Bingo workers: working together for the be erment of This year's "Flag Re rement Ceremony" will be the lodge. Hello everyone, and welcome to November. I was blessed and honored to receive my 5 year pin last month. Maria and I have made so many new friends and shared so many wonderful Hello & Welcome to Santa Ana Elkdom, experiences in the past five years. It is GREAT to be an ELK! It is an HONOR to be a SANTA ANA ELK MEMBER!!

Congratula ons to our NEW Club Manger, Paul Stupy. Paulie is working hard to improve every aspect of the Lounge and Bar. Your Loyally Knight In the Month of November we will Honor and Pay tribute to ALL Veterans who Bravely Fought to Defend and Protect our Patrick Kuykendall Great Country. Thank You to ALL of the VETERANS. Membership con nues to grow. Thank you Fellow Elks for a job well done! I encourage you to keep it up and consider a ending orienta on. It is vital that our new members feel welcomed and know that our seasoned members care.

I look forward to seeing you ALL at the Lodge in the coming Days and Weeks! Un l next month, JUSTICE to ALL MANKIND!

Your Esteemed Loyal Knight, Allen Bisbee

Gree ngs Fellow Elks, Amazingly, the holidays are upon us again. It Allen Bisbee feels as though this me of year comes so fast, turns our lives upside down and is over before we know it. Some mes it’s hard to be fully present in the moment when we’re overwhelmed and stressed about gi giving, tons of par es to a end, and juggling our families through it all. It helps to step back and take it all in. Let’s remember to slow down and enjoy the holidays. Elkdom promotes giving is be er than receiving. Make me for others. The good deeds you do will not only help others but really allow you to experience the true meaning of the holidays. I want to encourage you all to volunteer and to please a end as many events as you can. These are put on to not only give us a reason to mingle and build camaraderie but it raises money so we have the ability to donate to our community. We need your support in order to be able to con nue to help others. If you have an idea or a cause you want to support then speak up. We would love to hear your ideas and see more contribu on from our members. Sincerely, Lecturing Knight Suzi Brown

God bless you, 4

The month of November is a me to be especially thankful for family, friends and the blessings we have. My Elk family is high on my list of reasons to be grateful this year. October flew by with not a whole lot happening. We had a nice showing for our Quartermania. Lunch was delicious and everyone had lots of fun. We hosted the monthly Elks Breakfast on October 23rd and had an enjoyable me serving and interac ng with Elks, Emblem and friends gathered together for breakfast. As usual, Tomas's omelets were the hit of the breakfast. Don't forget this month is our Parcel Post spaghe dinner on the 6th of November. See you all there.

Paul Stupy I’d like to personally thank my fellow Elks for the warm welcome. It’s an exci ng me for Santa Ana Elks Lodge as we con nue to grow, strive to remain as adaptable, mo vated and responsive to one another. I pride myself on being “customer‐focused”, “relevant” and “open to new ideas”.

Our Lodge is confron ng a me of many upcoming changes due to the transi on of a new facility. As your new club manager, I am looking forward to transforming the way we operate to a more cu ng edge state‐of‐the art Lodge. I will strive to improve our ability to provide outstanding customer service, different menu op ons, and social ac vi es for the seasoned member; as well as the new energe c member. My goal is to have us operate together as “one” in a friendly welcoming environment. I promise to meet and face the challenges of our Lodge and to excel despite setbacks. I am very proud to be an Elk and to have this great opportunity to serve you and excited about where we are headed.

Before I finish, I'd just like you to know that you, as part of the Elk family, are our most important and greatest asset. We could not accomplish what we do every day without YOU.

I would like to thank everyone that brought in backpacks or who donated money for the purchase of backpacks. You were instrumental in breaking the record! Because of your generosity this year, we were able to donate 652 backpacks for children, of all ages, to the Salva on Army. As a bonus this year, we were able to purchase items to into the backpacks with the money that was donated. I hope you are as proud as I am for being able to help all the underprivileged children. And to know that they will be able to start school with a new backpack and supplies. These children are our future. I would like to thank Betsy Davis for purchasing backpacks while I was on vaca on. Thank you to those who par cipated: my Emblem sisters and brothers, Elk members, Golf Club, Travel Club, PER Associa on, Vets Program, Charity, members from other clubs that donated money and backpacks at our State Presidents visita on, our Emblem State President, everyone that played car races and those that paid to play and then donated their winnings, and our E.R. Patrick, for delivering the backpacks to the Salva on Army when they couldn’t get all of them in their cars. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! As you can see this was a very successful group effort!! This year we spent $4,305.54, drove 446.3 miles, and it took 55.7 donated hours. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!!!! Wagonmaster’s

48th Annual California Elks Rally Golden Village Palms, Hemet, CA There were 208 Elk members and guests, with 117 rigs from 16 Lodges a ending; over $20,000. net was raised, from space rent, food & ac vi es – all of this money is donated to the Elks Major Project, which includes Piggy Bank dona ons.

95% of Major Project Income is used to pay for forty‐five (45) therapists & their transporta on and the 5% balance is used for Administra ve Expenses. A great return from every dollar donated. The Physical, Occupa onal and Vision Training therapists personally help young, disabled children, throughout California, who have significant disabili es and whose parents lack sufficient financial support to adequately help their children grow, both physically and mentally.

We listened with intense rapture as the supervising therapist for Southern Calif., who has 40 years of experience in vision training with pre‐school children spoke to us. It was determined that of the children screened, over 15% had significant vision problems which could be rec fied quickly at their young ages, with or without needed glasses, through personal assistance with vision training.

We can donate $3 ‐$4 each month to the Purple Pig and this is a great way to help needy disabled children ‐ and the annual Elks Rally is a major addi onal supporter to financially retain the therapists needed.

The Nomads had three motor homes at this year's Rally, but we hope to provide more support next year at the Elks Rally on Oct. 5 ‐8, 2017.

If your camper or RV is spending too much me in storage, join with us at our Nomad's Mee ng on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Lodge. We meet for dinner at 6:30 pm, then have our Mee ng at 7:30 pm. For more info., contact President Garlin Flynn at 949/294‐0517 or garlinflynn@gmail.com

Whatever life throws at me I'll take it and be grateful for it as well. Tom Felton

Dear Elk Members ~

Thanksgiving and Christmas are upon us. A me to be thankful and be reminded of the bounty of blessings that are a part of our lives. Let’s remember those around us and to be more mindful of those less fortunate during this season of holidays. The quotes are from different authors about being “Thankful”.
