Elizabeth College provides a rich, diverse and exciting experience for students of all backgrounds, enabling them to flourish and make the very most of themselves.

An independent day school for boys and girls aged 2½ to 18.

We hope that as you read through this prospectus, you gain a sense of the vibrant community that is Elizabeth College. Elizabeth College, founded in 1563 by Queen Elizabeth I, is a selective, co-educational day school with a broad ability range. One of the earliest members of The Heads’ Conference (HMC represents the world’s leading independent schools), it provides a challenging, comprehensive and stimulating academic and co-curricular programme for children between the ages of 2½ and 18.

PRE-SCHOOL

Catering for boys and girls from the September after their second birthday, our aim is to give Pre-School children the very best start to their education by providing a full and varied curriculum within a happy, stimulating and secure environment guided by our caring and well qualified staff.

JUNIOR SCHOOL

Elizabeth College Junior School provides an excellent all-round education for boys and girls up to 11. Our pupils have access to the best educational opportunities within a secure and caring environment and are nurtured to develop their individual talents with appropriate stretch and challenge.

UPPER SCHOOL

Elizabeth College encourages the development of well-rounded and confident individuals ready to enter an increasingly complex world able to exercise responsibility and good judgement, with the skills to lead and to work effectively with others.

SIXTH FORM

Our Sixth Form offers a dynamic and enriching environment designed to inspire curiosity, foster academic excellence, and prepare students for their next steps in life. Students benefit from a wide choice of academic subjects, excellent inspirational teaching in small classes from well qualified teachers and outstanding co-curricular opportunities.

PRE-SCHOOL

CATERING FOR BOYS AND GIRLS FROM THE SEPTEMBER AFTER THEIR SECOND BIRTHDAY, OUR AIM IS TO GIVE PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN THE VERY BEST START TO THEIR EDUCATION BY PROVIDING A FULL AND VARIED CURRICULUM WITHIN A HAPPY, STIMULATING AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT GUIDED BY OUR CARING AND WELL QUALIFIED STAFF.

PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN FOLLOW THE FOUNDATION STAGE CURRICULUM, WHICH FOSTERS ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTITUDES FOR THEIR FUTURE LEARNING.

We enrolled our son at Elizabeth College Pre-school in 2021, and it was one of our best decisions. The nurturing environment and engaging activities ignited his love for learning and fostered both academic and social growth. Now in Year 1, he’s thriving and building on the strong foundation from Pre-school.

STUDENTS TYPICALLY TAKE THREE A LEVEL EXAMINATIONS FROM AN IMPRESSIVE SELECTION OF 26 SUBJECTS. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS INCLUDE MATHS IN CONTEXT, EQUIVALENT TO AN AS QUALIFICATION, AND THE EXTENDED PROJECT QUALIFICATION AT AS LEVEL.

OPERATING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LADIES COLLEGE INCREASES THE NUMBER OF SUBJECTS OFFERED.
