Warm Safe Spaces Braunton and Communities Forum and Live Well in Braunton, with the help of lots of people, are putting together details of all the voluntary groups where you can find a welcoming face, warmth, a hot drink and at some a nourishing meal. These are just some of those groups and next month, by kind permission of EX33, we will give you details of more. Braunton Library: Join at no cost. Try the puzzle, read a paper, a few hours on the computers, wi-fi, space to work/study. Various events every week: for under 5’s, stories and singing; crochet, knit and natter, craft and lego, creative writing and book club. Opening times vary, but open six days a week. Lunch at Heanton Church Hall, Wrafton: Arrive from 11.30am – 1.15pm. Every Tuesday until 13 Dec. and then from 10 Jan to end May. Shared tables, good company. Traditional roast lunch, fruit juice, pudding, tea/coffee. Cost £6 cooked and served by a friendly volunteer team. Booking essential. Call Christine 01271 816340 Christ Church Community Café: Every Thursday 2.30 – 4.30pm. Everyone welcome from a few months’ old to 100 years. Puzzles, games, activities, crafts and someone to talk to. £1.50 for hot drinks and home made cakes. Children free. Braunton Café and Foodbank at South St. Church: Starts Wednesday 9th November 12 – 1.30pm. For all ages including families. Enjoy a hot light meal or snack and drink. Free, donations welcome. Enjoy the company of others. The Braunton Foodbank will open at the same time, part of the Northern Devon Foodbank providing emergency food parcels to voucher holders. Braunton Caen Rotary welcome those living with memory problems and their carers, or just feeling lonely, for activities, entertainment, the chance for a chat, support, coffee/tea and biscuits.
