BARNSTAPLE CARNIVAL NEED YOU
Following the revival of Barnstaple carnival in 2024, the team behind its success are already working on the 2025 event with applications for Carnival royalty, stall holders and parade entries now open on the Barnstaple Carnival website www.barnstaplecarnival.org.uk. Project manager, the team are very excited at the response so far! We want BC25 to build on the success of last year s event!’
The team are already making in-depth plans for this September’s spectacle, but are keen to recruit members of the public to join them to help with the planning and delivery of this year’s event, which takes place on Saturday 20th September 2025. Specific roles they need help with include fundraising, social media management, and general communications.
Kev went on to say, ‘the bulk of the responsibility for last year’s event was undertaken by a very small team, so this year we would like to expand that team’. There are several roles which we would like support with, and so if anyone is interested in helping out, it would be great to hear from you’. ‘Last year’s carnival brought thousands of people into the town, and we want to make sure we can achieve the same again’.
Business manager, Scott Cleverdon, added ‘as well as theses specific roles we are always on the look-out for stewards to help marshal the events also people to help putting out barriers and signage on the day. There’s a lot to do for an event this size, so if there is anyone who can offer support we would be very grateful.’
For anyone interested in being involved in supporting the creation of this year’s carnival please contact info@barnstaplecarnival.org.uk and the team will be in touch.
This year the carnival will once again be supported by Flourishing Barnstaple, which is a North Devon Council initiative funded by the cultural development fund and administered by Arts Council England.
