We are thrilled that you have chosen Eleven® and Bahama House for your upcoming trip! We will be here every step of the way to customize this unique adventure so you can relax and enjoy carefree travels.
The best thing about Bahama House is that there is no set routine. You can create your own schedule while planning with your Experience Manager. Upon arrival you will be given a Bahama House tour, then all you have to do is relax and enjoy. In the morning, you can choose to grab a quick breakfast and begin the day’s adventures right away, or relax and take your time. Hit the flats in search of bonefish or take to the beach for some island R&R. While Harbour Island is known for its laid back pace, the Bahama House team knows how to deliver a dose of adventure. Paddle boarding, snorkeling, and cliff jumping are just some of the many activities on tap at Bahama House. The property’s Scorpion RIB boats and captains, makes it easy to explore neighboring islands. No matter how you choose to spend your day, it will always end in true island-style as you watch the sunset with a Goombay Smash cocktail in hand.
We believe that when you stay with us, Eleven becomes your home away from home. We look forward to meeting you and curating your next grand adventure.

FOOD AND DRINK
FOOD LOCAL CUISINE
Bahamian cuisine is some of the best in the world, and it would be a mistake to miss an opportunity to sample the local flavors. Seafood is the staple of The Bahamas, and conch (pronounced “konk”) is a specialty. The firm white peach-fringed meat comes from a large ocean mollusk. Fresh uncooked conch is often served ceviche-style, cut into small pieces and marinated with lime juice and spices.
Most commonly, conch is fried. Conch fritters, served with a rich sauce for dipping and washed down with a cold Kalik beer, is our favorite après treat. Conch is also steamed, used in soups, salads, and stews, or made into chowder. Our chef will delight you with the various options.
The Bahamian rock lobster is a spiny variety without claws that can be served broiled, grilled, and in salads and soups. The lobster season runs from August 1 to March 31. Other delicacies include boiled or baked land crabs, which are usually caught on the back roads after dark or after a heavy rain.
Of course a variety of fish—grouper, snapper, and dorado—plays a major role in Bahamian cooking. While grilled fish is delicious, stewed fish, made with celery, onions, tomatoes, and various spices, is a local specialty. Pigeon peas and rice, seasoned with spices, tomatoes, onions, and bacon, accompany many dishes.
Breakfast and après are included and served daily. Your Experience Manager can help make arrangements for lunch and dinner either out in town or in-house with our culinary team.
DRINK ISLAND SPECIALTIES
While many imports are available, we mainly stick to the local favorites like Kalik, the beer of the Bahamas which is known for its light and wheaty taste. The Bahamian refresher of choice is coconut water (not the heavier, fattier coconut milk) blended with sweet milk and gin. The Bahama House bartender mixes up a vitalizing version.
At Bahama House, we have a fine selection of liquor and wine, but if you have a special beer, wine, or liquor preference, please discuss this with your Experience Manager in the pre-trip planning process.
BLENDED DRINKS ARE A BAHAMIAN ART FORM. BARTENDERS TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR OWN SPECIAL RECIPES OF RUMS AND FRUIT JUICES, AND OUR STAFF ARE STUDENTS OF THIS ART.
