we exist to: DEVELOP DANCERS BOOST CONFIDENCE BUILD COMMUNITY INSPIRE SELF-EXPRESSION DISCOVER PURPOSE

ABOUT US Elevate Dance Academy was created with each dancer in mind. We want to provide the best training when it comes to dance education, but we also want to help each student reach their highest potential in the studio, their schools, their communities, etc. We are committed to building each student up physically through dance, tumbling and cheer but also mentally and emotionally. Elevate strives to help each student feel loved, to help boost confidence, to help them know that every BODY is a Dance Body and to help them be good humans. EDA was opened in October of 2020 with 30 students. Our one-room studio was barely 1,000 square feet, but we were grateful for the space and eager to get started. We will always love our little studio on Main Street in Newcastle where it all began. Now, Elevate Dance Academy is north of Newcastle at 167 NE 31st Street. We are proud to call our studio home with over 5,200+ square feet, four studio rooms, changing rooms, lobby and office.

HOW WE BEGAN

The story of how we began, really began, might be a little crazy... I remember praying in July of 2020, thanking God for my girls, their passion for dance, their talents and for choosing me to be their mom. Then, I very loudly heard Him say, "What about your talents?" I immediately said "Um, no, this isn't about me, God. I am talking about my kids here!" And that is when God started to reveal His plan for Elevate one "coincidence" at a time. So many we lost count. I wish I could say I trusted God with the first sign to open the studio, but unfortunately I was the girl who said "Okay great, now could you send me a signier sign?" And I may have said that after a few of those were sent my way too. I also wish I could say that even after the signs, I stepped out in faith and opened with complete confidence. However, I said yes to EDA because I was scared my story would be similar to Jonah in the Bible, and I would end up in some whale-- figuratively or literally if I said no.

So as a family, we said "Yes," and the truth is I had NO IDEA what God was planning, not in the slightest, but I am so grateful I said yes (even if I was quite literally shaking in fear) to this God Dream, to these kids and their families-- our dance family. In the few years we have been open, I have seen God move in more ways than one through the kids in this community. Students have went from hating their bodies, to loving every inch. They

have gone from "not being good" to mastering different skills and taking that confidence to their schools and friends. Families who had no one in their time of need had their EDA family. This is only the beginning. I can't wait to see what happens in 2023-2024!

Ashley is a wife, mother of 3, full time real estate agent, volunteer cheer coach and a newly certified Acro Instructor! Born in Florida Mrs. Ashley began dancing at the ripe age of 2. Because of her age she wasn’t old enough to enroll but while attending classes with a friend the instructor noticed her moving right along with the choreography and allowed “she might as well just join.” Ashley hasn’t stopped dancing since. As a young girl Ashley lived overseas with her family in Saudi Arabia. There she attended dance in jazz, ballet and tap. At 10 years old she was the youngest dancer accepted into the pointe class, but her dancing career ended soon after. Her parents made the choice to move back to Oklahoma, unfortunately there was not a dance academy close enough for her to attend. That’s when she discovered cheer. Ashley was a high school cheerleader in Maysville, Oklahoma. Each summer their cheer squad attended NCA cheer camps at the University of Oklahoma. In 1999 they took home the prestigious award of Top Squad! In 2002 Ashley was named an NCA All Star and had the opportunity to perform at the 2003 Orange Bowl in Miami Florida. Ashley graduated from East Central University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Although she never took a full-time teaching job, Ashley has always found herself being drawn to work with children. She managed a childcare facility for a year while living in Texas. After moving back to Oklahoma with her growing family, Ashley began teaching preschool at Little People Pre School in Blanchard Oklahoma. She is now a licensed real estate agent and enjoys helping families and first-time home buyers find the Wright home. Newly Certified from Acrobatic Arts in Acro, Ashley is delighted to be joining Elevate Dance Academy as an instructor and is looking forward to expanding her dance certifications.
