Our Young Hollywood stories include McKell David and Viola Prettejohn. McKell signed on for his first lead in a feature film at the age of 15. You might recognize him from his most recent feature, Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentleman” (Miramax). Viola is another young star to keep an eye on, as she has already played roles in the Netflix series “The Witcher” and worked alongside Academy Award Winner J.K. Simmons in the show “Counterpart” (Starz). It isn’t hard to see why we are INLOVE with Aidan Alexander. His latest track, “the hills,” was released in early March and was instantly a hit. Not only is he a talented musician, but as an actor, he has starred alongside Luke Perry in the film “Red Wing” and in Judd Apatow’s Netflix series “Love.”

F

rom Megan Thee Stallion to “Rhinestone Cowboy,” Alexander’s song choices are equally intriguing to his own work. The singer-songwriter-actor who originally hails from Boise, Idaho, recently dropped two new songs - “the end of the world” and “the hills” - his first music in over two years.

“They just don’t make them like that anymore,” Alexander says as he opens up a retro magazine with Kate Moss as the centerfold. Alexander, sprawled out on the floor during his photoshoot for INLOVE, is surrounded by old records and some Rolling Stones decor - which couldn’t be more apropos for the multi-hyphenate artist.

Somewhere in between the ‘70s, ‘90s and today is Aidan Alexander. Tall, striking, funny, and unassumingly modelesque.

The backdrop of Downtown Los Angeles almost served as an echo of his personality. Fun and exciting, while also artistic and intriguing, modern with a retro edge. That’s Aidan Alexander.

Sari: Briefly walk me through your journey of success. When things really took off, and how you got to where you are today?

Aidan Alexander: That’s nice of you to say. I think there’s lots of work to do, but people started to take notice with the first single I put out, “I Don’t Love You.” It resonated with some listeners. I was 18 and extremely nervous, so it was cool that people had the positive reaction they did.

Sari: How does it feel being known as a “heartthrob?” What do you think is the ultimate definition of that title?

AA: [Laughs] I’m not sure if I am known as that! I think to me, that is someone who makes you feel something. It’s in the name, someone that makes your heart throb. I don’t think that should have anything to do with how someone looks. It’s how they act. How they treat others.

Sari: This photoshoot is giving us all major Herb Ritts vibes.

His photos are iconic. Is there one that’s your favorite?

AA: I love his classic image of the Versace dress in El Mirage in 1990. I think the shadows are so beautiful, and the contrast is really striking.

INLOVE WITH MUSIC Sari: How do you think social media has evolved since you first saw success on it? With the addition of platforms like TikTok and Clubhouse, do you think it’s gotten better or worse?

AA: It’s constantly changing and shifting. It’s honestly hard to keep track of all that. I’m often the last one to be told about the trends [laughs]. I don’t think it’s gotten worse per se, but it’s definitely gotten harder to be seen because of how saturated with content the platforms are. At the same time, it’s also opened the doors to a lot of indie artists, and they are starting to get the recognition they deserve.

Sari: You’re known for being super funny on Twitter, and your Insta has its own vibe, too. In your opinion, which platforms are good for what? I feel like they each highlight different things.

AA: For me, Twitter is where I can share my thoughts, where Instagram is more so about the photos and aesthetic. I definitely feel more pressure on Instagram and find myself avoiding it a bit more recently.

Sari: Apart from Billie Eilish, do you answer DMs? And have you ever met someone on social media with whom you’ve actually developed some sort of relationship?

AA: I have met a lot of really cool people all over the world, which I think is one of the rewarding parts about doing this in general. Growing up, I made a Facebook account young to add people from all over to just talk. In retrospect, that was weird, so getting to do that now is amazing.

Sari: Your first single of the year was “the end of the world.” It’s the way that everyone was feeling in 2020.

Your music comes from such a vulnerable and relatable place. Tell me a little bit about your writing process in general.

AA: My writing process is always different. Sometimes my music starts as a poem I write, or other times I go into a session and just improvise on a track loop until I get something I like. The thing I like about songwriting is that there are no rules. There is definitely a technical structure that is followed, but overall, there is no right way to creating music.

Sari: You also recently released “the hills.” What is the meaning behind that song?

AA: “The hills” is supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek look at the downside to celebrity culture and how we have been made to view and compare one another in a high-pressure, high-judgmental environment. It also touches on the absurdist behaviors of people who do whatever it takes to further themselves in this town.

But overall, I tried to keep it fun.

Sari: What can you tease about upcoming music releases for the remainder of the year that you have lined up?

AA: I have been in the studio a ton, working on new music. I have a new single coming that’s really different from anything I’ve done before, which I think people are really going to connect with. I’m working towards an EP, which I’ve never done, so I am really excited for that next challenge.

Sari: What’s next for you in the acting world?

AA: I’ve been reading a lot of really incredible scripts and getting to meet and work with a lot of awesome people lately. I’m excited for everyone to see.

Sari: How do you see yourself at 21, and where do you see yourself at 31?

AA: I am 21, but it doesn’t feel too different. Twenty was hard because I knew I wasn’t a teenager anymore.

I think normal people are excited when they turn 21, but I’m lame. I don’t know about 31. I’ve always been bad at these questions. I hope I’m doing what makes me happy with people I love, somewhere I love.

Sari: Since this is INLOVE Magazine. Let’s talk love.

What do you look for in a person? How would you describe true love? Being that we live in a digital world, do you believe it’s better to find it on an app or in real-life moments?

AA: What I look for in a person mostly is just that chemistry. I like laughing, so someone who can laugh and not take themselves too seriously. I think in this day and age, there are a lot more avenues to find dates. I think if it works for someone, they should do it! Apps personally terrify me.

Sari: What are your hopes for 2021 and beyond? What do you see for 2022?

AA: I hope to keep working on music and making records I love. I want to be able to continue acting and writing and having the opportunity to create. I hope 2022 brings us back to normal, as much as we can, and I can travel and tour. That sounds so nice.

THE

DOCTOR When he was 16 years old, Remy Rabinovich was playing junior ice hockey, and he fractured his femur bone. That was his introduction to the world of orthopaedic surgery. It was the help he received and the care that came along with it that made the good doctor want to pay it forward.

“The relationship I built with my surgeon sparked an interest to one day do the same for young athletes and allow them to get back to sports after sustaining a major trauma,” Dr. Rabinovich tells INLOVE Magazine. “I began following surgeons around in my free time, joining them in the OR - this sealed the decision for me to pursue the specialty. Later on, during my orthopaedic training, being exposed to the complex anatomy of the hand along with the intricacies and details involved in treating that part of the human body, I learned that I wanted to focus my practice in that subspecialty.”

Over the years, Dr. Rabinovich continued to follow his path. He went to Rutgers University - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York - which is where he is practicing.

“Starting my practice as a hand, wrist, and elbow surgeon, I strive to first and foremost bring the highest quality care to my patients and to be there for them when needed most,” he continued. “Completing my orthopaedic training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City followed by further subspecialty training at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center, my clinical expertise concentrates on the treatment of both traumatic injuries to the upper extremity as well as degenerative conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow. I also hold research interests in the development and outcomes of novel surgical techniques to help better treat my patients and advance the field of hand surgery.”

HEALTH & WELLNESS Doing all of this during the COVID-19 pandemic poses a whole other set of obstacles that no one could have predicted prior to 2020. “Taking care of patients during this time has been very challenging,” reveals Dr. Rabinovich. “I feel it is my responsibility as a physician to be there for patients when they need help the most, no matter what the circumstances may be. It is paramount to keep oneself and others safe and protected, taking all precautions and wearing all the necessary personal protective equipment while delivering and not delaying the utmost care to our patients. I can recall an experience where a patient presented to the trauma bay with a part of their hand amputated and their COVID-19 status unknown. Delay in care cannot be afforded in order to expeditiously replant part of the hand and help the patient achieve their optimal chance of a good outcome. It is the primary role of the frontline physician to balance patient care and get to the operating room in a timely manner all the while making sure that oneself, the patient and everybody around is maximally protected from COVID-19 exposure.”

Having recently completed his training, Dr. Rabi­ novich says that there is not a more rewarding profession than medicine. “Having the ability, the gift, to heal someone and potentially change their entire life is special,” he explained. “Growing up, most people encounter something that life throws at them or a loved one, let it be a condition, disease, or injury. Getting through that experience and the treatment process can ignite a feeling to reciprocate and do the same to help others. I feel that using this internal desire to fuel one’s aspirations of becoming a medical professional can be very powerful. The world that we live in today has quickly realized the importance of healthcare professionals and the strength we have, not only in battling a pandemic but in uniting a nation and helping one another survive. This moment in time is a building block for the next generation of physicians and nurses to come.”

Medicine is a path meant for those who strive to make someone’s life better at a time when they’re at their lowest point. A doctor’s own perseverance along their journey is perhaps the strength that’s needed to help their patients get through the worst of it and come out on top. At the end of the day, a doctor’s job is to help people, and as Dr. Rabinovich points out, there’s no better feeling than that.

INLOVE WITH BEAUTY The 19-year-old social media star knows a thing or two about beauty. In spring, the model launched a new product with her mom’s makeup enterprise, Jouer Cosmetics. Zilber teaches us that beauty is more than skin deep. The freshman at Georgetown University is also a Young Ambassador for UNICEF. She’s known for using her social media platforms to educate Gen Z on important issues, such as voting.

Sari: Your mom is the CEO and founder of Jouer Cosmetics. What has it been like partnering with her on this journey?

Amelie Zilber: It’s honestly been so much fun. We have such similar taste when it comes to fashion and beauty, so the entire process was so easy, lighthearted, and fun.

Sari: Tell me about your multiuse blush and highlighting balm.

What sets this product apart from others?

AZ: Most cream blushes either feel sticky or don’t blend into your skin effortlessly. This has the most unique velvet finish that blends seamlessly and actually looks airbrushed.

Both the blush and highlighting balm are loaded with good-for-your-skin ingredients like plant-derived squalane oil, Shea Butter, and vitamin E. It’s vegan and cruelty-free, and made with clean ingredients.

Sari: I love that your activism is what influenced the names of your cheek and lip duo. The clear glow is named “Be Strong,” and the bright rose is named “Be Loud.”

How do those titles speak to you? What do you want it to represent?

AZ: The shade names revolve around the message I push most on my platform, which is to stand up, speak up, and reimagine the world we all want to live in. I encourage my followers to use their voice for activism

and for change-making, to be strong and resilient in their convictions, and to fight for whatever cause makes their hearts beat. The titles serve as a source of inspiration and reminder that womxn should embrace their beauty and be confident in their physical appearance, but so much more than that should cultivate their mind, challenge themselves to dig deeper, work harder, and stand up for things that matter.

Sari: Your product launched in Sephora in the spring.

What’s the coolest part about that?

AZ: I’ve been shopping at Sephora with my mom for as long as I can remember, and since I was little, I would always fawn at the pictures of models all over the store. Knowing that my picture is in the Jouer SUMMER 2021 |

section of Sephora stores nationwide is so unbelievably cool to me.

Sari: You also recently had a birthday. What are your goals for this year?

AZ: I turned 19 not too long ago. My main goal for this year is to keep uplifting my generation to make their voices heard and continuously grow my platform to have larger conversations about issues I’m deeply passionate about.

Sari: I love that you use your platform to raise awareness on political and social issues. Using this platform now, what do you want our readers to be aware of?

AZ: Thank you, and I love how people 46

are paying attention to what I’m saying and coming to my platform to learn and to be inspired – that’s all I’ve ever wanted. It’s important to note, however, that my voice is one of many in a generation that is conti­ nuously showing up for issues that matter. There are so many faces and identities to my generation, and that is simply what makes it so beautiful and empowering.

To anyone who is reading this, know that your voice is just as important as the next – we all have different stories to share and are all of equal importance.

Sari: You describe the content you create as “beauty and fashion with a socially conscious twist.” Why do you think that recipe resonates with Gen Z? AZ: Gen Z is such a multi-faceted generation, and we have so many different interests. For me, I love fashion and beauty. It’s freeing to dress how I like and share my style with my followers. At the same time, I LOVE politics, I love reading, and I love engaging my generation to pay attention to the news. Sari: I also love that you founded TwoMinuteTimes.

Tell us all about that and what you expect to do with it in the future?

like Georgetown is that the resources are endless, and I plan to make use of them. When I’m back on campus, I look forward to developing friendships that spend their Friday nights talking gun rights over dinner or watching documentaries until 3 am rather than partaking in mindless, brain-numbing activities. I crave the types of friendships that inspire me to work harder and spark my curiosity about the world. I’m currently studying Middle Eastern foreign policy and Arabic.

AZ: The TwoMinuteTimes was a weekly political newsletter I sent out every Sunday for six years, where I broke down the news, in an entertaining and witty fashion, to educate young people. I created the platform when I was 12 with the simple intent of educating myself and my peers on current affairs. Today, my social media platforms are the vehicle by which young people are moved to activism through education. I’m really excited to be bringing that same fervor and sense of hope for change to an on-screen production I’m working on with Facebook.

Sari: You’re also currently at Georgetown - class of 2024.

Congrats! What do you hope to accomplish in your time there, and how do you hope to expand on that after you graduate?

What is your major?

AZ: Thank you so much!

Georgetown, located in the hub of politics, has been my dream school since freshman year in high school, and I feel so lucky to attend such an incredible University filled with like-minded, passionate students. My biggest hope is to make great, long-lasting connections with my professors and my peers. The beauty of a school 50

AZ: In high school, I had a super rigid sense of what my occupation would be after college, and I was dead set on a specific path. When my social media blew up during lockdown, I realized just how much my voice in specific had impacted the way teenagers get inspired by politics. I hope to take the community I’ve built and continue growing it in a politically empowering way that extends far beyond social media.

Sari: Tell me about your role as a UNICEF ambassador?

AZ: I’ve been engaged with UNICEF since I was in elementary school, first by raising money by trick-ortreating for the organization, then lemonade stands and other cute little fundraisers. I then confounded the LA UNICEF Young Ambassadors Program for middle schoolers, which then grew on a national scale and raised hundreds of thousands for different causes each year. I was given the opportunity to travel to Malaysia with UNICEF. I spent a week learning about and helping Malaysian children without do­ cumentation get better access to health programs and education. UNICEF is an organization deeply connected to my heart, and I will continue to fundraise for and advocate on their behalf.

J

ordan Jacobs is a medical artist - that’s where science meets art and medicine meets retail. Jacobs is also a registered nurse. Her main office is in New York City, but the bulk of her business is private concierge service. She travels to see clients worldwide, delivering high-quality non-surgical aesthetic services in the intimacy and privacy of their own homes and offices.

The second half of Jacobs’ business is education.

She provides private hands-on international training to medical professionals in the industry. “This is my true passion,” she tells INLOVE Magazine. “To empower aesthetic experts while raising the bar for our industry worldwide. Throughout the years, I have found that there is a huge need for private training because of the overall lack of hands-on experience.”

Because this branch of medicine is considered to be “up-and-coming,” medical aesthetics has yet to reach the medical boards, which means that regulation, standardization, and safety protocols have yet to be developed.

“My services are a combination of medicine and art,” describes Jacobs. “This expertise not only requires

scientific knowledge and clinical experience, but it also requires an artistic eye and dexterous hand, which I’ve found is more difficult to master. Artistry is something that you are born with.” You can’t teach everyone to see, touch, feel, and appreciate each experience the way an artist does.

“When I’m at work, I am the artist, and my client is the blank canvas,” continued Jacobs. “I turn on my music and get into a meditative state of flow. I visualize my end goal and get to work. I become the needle, and I feel each micro-movement of the bevel piercing through each layer of skin. I imagine that I am the product dispersing itself beneath the skin. The end product is a work of art.”

Because this line of work is artistry, Jacobs’ clients pay to have a session with her rather than paying for the product, unit, or syringe. “My clients are paying for the journey leading to the end result,” she explained. “This approach releases the suffocation of creativity which happens when I have to sell by the syringe or the unit. I am able to be tremendously inventive and produce the best result possible without limitations. I am an artist with full access to all mediums.”

INLOVE WITH BEAUTY Growing up, Jacobs says that her view on beauty was subjective: beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

“Although this viewpoint still holds true for me, I have found that beauty is actually more objective than what I realized,” she points out. “Using geometry, there are measurable and quantifiable traits - angles, ratios, and proportions - which can amplify and reduce one’s objective view of beauty. I utilize and manipulate these traits while creating my real-life masterpieces.”

The journey began for Jacobs at the age of 18. She left her family in Texas to follow her dream of living in New York City. She attended St. John’s University and enrolled in their Physician Assistant program.

The first semester in college, she got kicked out of the PA program with a 1.4-grade point average. “After that moment, my life spiraled downward,” Jacobs explained. “I fell into an abusive relationship and started making bad, self-destructive choices. I wanted to give up on life.”

At the age of 22, she became pregnant with her first daughter. “This was when I started working on getting my life back together,” Jacobs said. “She gave me life; she gave me purpose. I decided to apply for nursing school as a single mother. I left my abusive boyfriend and moved into an apartment with my one-year-old daughter while hustling my way through nursing school. I gave birth to my second daughter six months away from graduation.”

Going to nursing school as a single mother of two while being on welfare and bartending overnights to pay rent, Jacobs says, is the biggest challenge that she’s ever had to overcome. “I’m so proud of myself for getting through it. If it weren’t for my daughters, I honestly would not be alive today,” she expressed. “I was on a fast-track down the wrong path of self-destruction and self-hatred before Scarlett and Shane came into my life.”

Today, Jacobs’ focus remains on her daughters, teaching them how to love themselves and be effective communicators. Professionally, Jacobs continues to be an authority in medical aesthetics internationally. “I will stay centered around education which will enable others to join my unique movement,” she predicts for the future. “I will always invest in continued training and advancement so that I am equipped with the tools needed to transform lives. I absolutely love what I do and plan to continue helping others achieve their goals.”

Jacobs is currently writing a book. It’s a collection of her clients’ real-life stories and how these treatments have positively changed their lives forever. It’s apparent that she is turning the industry on its head.

“Instead of the preservation of youth and beauty being the ultimate goal, I am achieving these results in my clients as the first step in a larger journey to becoming the best version of themselves,” Jacobs said. “To me, the treatment results are only the beginning of a client’s happier life.”

It’s easy to be drawn to Jacobs’ authenticity. On Instagram, her name is @genuineinjector, and that is for a reason. She’s honest, open, and genuine, always leading her clients towards what is best for them. “My way of practicing is altruistic,” Jacobs says. “I see all of my clients as partners as we create a solution together. My values are what retain my clients; they trust me and know that I will always do what’s in their best interest.”

Clients come to her because they want to invest in themselves. Jacobs aims to listen, relate, and empower them. “We are all on a quest to be happier, healthier, and wealthier versions of ourselves. My clients understand that being selflessly selfish is a step towards being a more altruistic citizen of society. They understand that by investing in themselves, they’re ultimately making the world a better place,” she tells INLOVE. “When you invest in yourself, your confidence skyrockets and translates to productivity. When you become more productive, the things that didn’t seem achievable become a reality. That’s transformation.”

Skin Esteem The Dawn of a New Era Dawn Naylor BS, RN, MSN, ACNP - and soonto-be DNP - was eager to share how her passion for dermatology, aesthetic medicine, and health and wellness has developed throughout her career. Naylor is a registered nurse and acute care nurse practitioner. She initially received a BS in Physical Therapy at UConn and Lasell College, then completed her RN, MSN, and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license at MGH Institute of Health Professions, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Her training included residencies with plastic surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine, cardiology, and critical care medicine. She has over 20 years of experience in critical care, cardiology, aesthetics medicine and advanced medical procedures. She stays up to date by training with experts in plastic surgery, dermatology, and medical aesthetics.

Her path eventually led her to open up her own business. “I started my own practice called Skin Esteem Med Spa and feel blessed that I get to do what I love every single day while helping amazing people along with their skincare and wellness journey,” Naylor tells INLOVE. The promise of a new Dawn Naylor’s brother was born with a collapsed lung which caused a lack of blood flow to his brain. Her parents 64

INLOVE WITH BEAUTY were told he would live only a few days. Today, he is 52 and lives a happy life residing with her elderly parents, who care for him independently. Naylor’s brother has cerebral palsy, mental retardation, epilepsy, and is legally blind. “He was dealt an unfair hand in life but has always had an amazing spirit and is the kindest, ‘big kid’ I know, even though he is mentally around seven years old. His medical care was costly, and I didn’t grow up with financial stability. I did, however, receive a lot of emotional stability from my amazing parents and sister,” she explained.

“School-age kids could be cruel, and my brother and I were bullied on a daily basis,” Naylor recounted.

“This led to me having anxiety and self-esteem issues at a very young age. To compound the issue, when I was 12 years old, I was bitten in the face by a dog. It left me with facial scars and a thin, ugly upper lip,” she added.

Naylor found a dermatologist who fixed her lip with fillers, which is how her passion for aesthetics took root. “I wound up blossoming from a mousy, scared girl to a pretty young woman,” she detailed. “I was runner up of Miss Teen Connecticut and later became a shoe model for various companies including Nine West. I won fitness competitions and got into fitness modeling and swimsuit modeling. This was crazy for me because I was only 5-foot-4. To make ends meet, I worked as a bartender during my free time.

You would think I had it all. However, I was still that mousy girl on the inside with self-esteem issues.”

Naylor shared how she nearly developed an eating disorder because she was so afraid of what would happen if she gained weight. She realized she needed to look for a different career that used her intelligence more than her looks. It was due to all of her brother’s medical problems and doctor visits that she developed an interest in medicine. “I thought about attending medical school but honestly couldn’t afford it,” Naylor said. “I needed a program where I could work while I attended school. I have a tremendous amount of respect for physicians. They go to school for eight years before they even start into their specialty. They give a tremendous amount of their time and finances to selflessly help others.”

Naylor initially went to school for physical therapy but found that wasn’t the right fit for her. She really wanted a medical career and quickly enrolled in a nursing program after graduating. “I received my RN degree and got a job working at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in cardiac ICU working nights SUMMER 2021 |

while I pursued my Masters of Science in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner during the day,” she tells INLOVE. “I am proud to be a pioneer in the nursing practice as I advocated for Nurse Practitioners to be allowed to do inpatient clinical rotations in various acute care settings.”

She was offered a job while still a student with a prominent physician. She accepted and trained under his tutelage for several years. Naylor was instrumental in helping to create a cath lab service from scratch.

She also cross-covered the ICU as an Intensivist NP for years. “During this time, I began to do pro bono aesthetic work for a friend who was a surgeon who specializes in breast restoration in cancer survivors,” she chronicled. “We did aesthetic procedures to enhance their appearance and, in turn, build their confidence. During this time, I taught NP students and became a board writer for the ANCC. As my aesthetic skill set grew, I created a part-time practice out of a spa while I continued full-time work in the ICU. As my skill set and passion for aesthetics continued to grow, I knew I needed to make a decision on how I wanted to direct my career.”

Naylor then made the leap and rented a location so she could practice aesthetic medicine full time. She pursued ongoing clinical training with a variety of dermatologists and plastic surgeons and trained every opportunity she got. She also trained abroad and did cadaver labs so she could fully understand every part of human anatomy.

“Starting a new business is risky, but I wanted to ensure I held myself to the highest standards,” she explained. “I got my new space credentialed by the Massachusetts Board of Health and Board of Safety per state guidelines. I am currently getting my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. I have developed affiliations with a top oculofacial plastic surgeon and general plastic surgeon. I know my limitations of practice and have resources for those problems that are outside my scope. We offer 24/7 coverage with a licensed medical provider in case there should ever be a complication.”

Her mission for wellness led her to offer Covid-19 Vaccination services for her community. “I’m proud to be able to help the most vulnerable in our community during these difficult times,” Naylor stated.

“We are actually changing our name to Skin Esteem Med Spa and Wellness center,” Naylor announced. “With the rise of the popularity of social media, there has been an increase in body dysmorphia. It is important to support body positivity and support health and wellness. I am getting my Doctorate in Nursing with a specialty in anti-aging medicine. My providers and I are getting certified in nutrition, weight loss, and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.”

Naylor also often does pro bono aesthetic work on cancer patients and others with certain medical problems. With twenty years of experience, she collaborates closely with other medical professionals to help these clients feel better about themselves even while undergoing various medical treatments. This is something she understands personally because of her experience being bitten by a dog as a child. “It is why I named my practice Skin Esteem,” she said. “When you look better, you often feel better. My goal is to help people regain their confidence, self-esteem, and ‘Skin Esteem.’”

lena Dyachina has spent the last 17 years building a wonderful foundation of adolescent and childhood education.

Creating the first of its kind, she has opened several international speaking daycare centers throughout New Jersey that specialize in English and Russian.

Being a single mother of three beautiful kids comes with a profound need of keeping an eye on them. Her first endeavor was to create an environment where she could make sure they were getting through their daily activities as well as still being able to focus on her work from home. Alena’s children are her number one priority before any career, therefore she decided to keep her kids at home and opened her doors to the children of other busy parents that needed quality childcare. Alena was always passionate about creating a loving place for all these children to be cared for.

Even though Alena is a highly educated graduate with more than one major, she decided to follow her heart, so her overflowing love for children took over.

The decision was made and Alena started her very own original children’s day-care establishment right out of her house. It was a wonderful beginning to her business because she had her own children under her wing. As much as she loved her kids, she extended the same limitless love to the other children who attended her house-based day-care. With everything she offered to her clients, as well as word of mouth among the parents, Alena’s house wasn’t big enough to host a tremendous number of children.

Due to the high demand, she decided to expand her idea and scale it up. That’s how it all started. Alena partnered with her late friend Boris. Sari: What’s been your proudest moment as a singer?

Are you working on any new music now, or will you be releasing anything soon?

JL: I’m really proud of my last music video, “Utopia,” because it was a new chapter in my music journey.

And I love anything I’ve done in the past when it comes to performing, as I love seeing and interacting with my fans. I have not been working on any new music at the moment, as my focus has been 100 percent on my Nickelodeon show, “Side Hustle.”

Sari: What are you most INLOVE with when it comes to acting?

JL: I’m most INLOVE with getting to play another character and being creative as someone who is different from who I am in real life.

Sari: What do you love most about doing a show like “Side Hustle” and playing the character of Lex? JL: I love that it’s different from my real life because “Side Hustle” is more young, whimsical, and playful, whereas life as a 16-year-old is a little more serious as I’m entering adulthood.

Sari: In what ways are you similar to Lex in real life?

JL: I’m similar to Lex in that she is very sarcastic and witty and also very loyal to her friends.

Sari: What makes you and Jayden [Bartels] such a good team? How do you make each other not only better actors but better people?

JL: Jayden and I make such a good team because we’ve been best friends for four years, so there isn’t much we don’t know about each other, and we are able to balance each other out. We’re very good at communicating with each other and make each other better people by supporting each other in our endeavors.

JL: There isn’t really a secret to going viral. People who go viral are ones who are creative and put out content that captures the audience’s attention and shows them something they’ve never seen before.

Sari: I’ve heard that you don’t edit the photos that you post. What are some tips for posting the perfect I nstagram pics?

JL: Recently, I’ve been into doing photo edits! For me, there is no perfect Instagram picture. The only thing that matters is that you should like the picture and aren’t just doing it for other people.

Sari: What’s one new trend you want to take with you into the summertime?

JL: Bright colors and patterns!

McKell David shines on screen in the supernaturally fused Sherlock Holmes show. The series follows a group of troubled teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for Doctor Watson and his “mysterious business partner.” David plays Spike. ENTERTAINMENT “‘The Irregulars’ is jam-packed with emotion, fright, and might,” McKell David shared with INLOVE. “It will leave you on the edge of your seat, binging for eight hours straight. That’s what happened to me.”

It’s not hard to see why by the age of 16, David was well on his way to achieving star status. Now at 24, he’s got a wealth of TV and film credits under his belt. He’s played in the fan-favorite “Black Mirror,” starred in the British drama series “Holby City,” landed the role of Snake Eyes in the TV show “Snatch,” and can also be seen in Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen.”

Sari: What are some milestones on your life journey that shaped you into who you are?

McKell David: That’s a really interesting question. I think life is a journey of growth and becoming a better human as you go along that journey. For me, I think when I started acting, it gave me a buzz that I had never felt before. It inspired me to push myself year in year out and strive for perfection.

Sari: You started off making prank-style YouTube videos at the age of 12, but you studied at an award-winning drama school. How do you think that juxtaposition helped you become the actor you are today?

MD: I think it was the perfect balance. The YouTube show gave me the confidence and allowed me to believe in my ability. As soon as I went to drama school, the levels were evaluated. Being around other amazing performers constantly makes you want to perform at the top level. I think YouTube is a great foundation to start on as it kept my naturalistic ways in scenes which can become structured with drama schooling.

Sari: Any chance of reviving your YouTube bits into something that fits you now?

ENTERTAINMENT MD: Possibly. I’d never say no. I have brainstormed some cool shows that I’d like to bring to YouTube.

Sari: What would you say are the top three roles you’ve taken on that have really impacted you over the years?

MD: I think every role impacts you as they become part of you, weirdly enough. But I’d say a character called Snake Eyes, who I played in seasons 2 and 3 of “Snatch.” He was a Latino gangster way in over his head which was fun to play but very intense.

Also, I’ve played a character called Montana [for the film ‘Montana’], who was a teenage assassin seeking revenge. I think carrying a film at 15 years old really gave me tons of film experience. Of course, Spike in “The Irregulars,” too.

Sari: What would your dream project be?

MD: There are so many dream projects. Perhaps working with Martin Scorsese or do a comedy-drama with Jonah Hill.

MD: The prep. That’s where it starts. You’re like an architect slowly piecing your puzzle together. Creating the character is the most enjoyable part, then you get to bring them to life. It’s amazing.

I feel like the ‘90s. Just growing up watching movies from that era, especially Black movies like “House Party,” “Poetic Justice,” and “Friday.” It always felt like people were catching vibes, enjoying their life, and having fun.

Sari: What’s coming up next for you?

Favorite song?

MD: I would love to do something dark and dangerous as my next role. I think after being Spike, who is so light and soft, doing something on the complete other side of the spectrum would be interesting.

This is soooo hard. I love music so much. Currently, I’ve been listening to a lot of Pooh Shiesty, so “Back In Blood” for right now. Tune is a BOP!

Favorite movie?

Very hard question. At the moment, I’d say Gucci. I love the contrast between their streetwear pieces and their high fashion pieces. So, fire!

There are so many movies I love. It’s so hard to narrow it down. I feel like any given day, you could get a different answer [laughs], but I’m going to say, “The Departed.” I think every performance is 10/10 extremely strong, and it’s a great storyline. I do love me a crime thriller.

My own style [laughs]. I love my style because it is how I express myself without words.

hile the reign of “Game of Thrones” may officially be over, HBO’s “The Nevers” is now the science-fiction drama of the moment, and it’s giving stars such as Viola Prettejohn the spotlight they deserve.

“Myrtle [Haplisch] is a lovable weirdo,” Prettejohn tells INLOVE about her character on the show. “She is a newcomer to the orphanage in episode one and immediately finds herself at home amongst the other Touched, as I think even without her turn, she didn’t always fit in. She has an incredible ability to adapt to each new situation she is thrown - sometimes literally - into through her boundless optimism and gumption, even if she ends up finding herself in some trouble because of it. What viewers will discover is that trouble comes from all angles throughout the series, which creates some pretty outlandish and bonkers scenarios for the characters to find their way out of.”

The UK-born actress has had roles in Starz’ “Counterpart” as well as “The Witcher” on Netflix, and while she’s managed to make waves on screen while still flying relatively under the radar, a whole new world is now opening up for Viola Prettejohn.

Sari: Tell us about your journey. How you got here, and what was it that brought you to act at this point in your life?

At around 14, my school put me up for an open audition for the Tim Burton remake of “Dumbo.” I didn’t end up getting the role, but the casting department recommended I get myself an agent, and three years later, I’m here.

ENTERTAINMENT VP: What initially drew me to acting was its transformative power. It’s the closest you can be to truly experiencing someone else’s life or experiencing scenarios in which you could never, in reality, find yourself in. As I have begun to work as an actor, I now appreciate how lucky I am to be able to bring to life the beautiful words and stories of incredible minds while providing entertainment to others.

“I’m very focused when I am doing something I love”

Sari: How does it feel now to be working on a big HBO show like this? What’s been the coolest part of this experience?

VP: It still hasn’t quite settled in. I’m a huge fan of the content that HBO produces, particularly shows like “Game of Thrones” and “Veep,” so becoming a part of one was a big dream of mine. Everything about the production of the show felt enormous: the sets were so immaculately detailed, the costumes are gorgeous, and working with the cast has just been incredible. I think the coolest experience I had on set was driving around in the sidecar. When you can actually move through the streets that the set designers had created like that, it just brings the whole thing to life and really grounds you in the world of the characters.

Sari: You only just recently got onto Instagram. Why did you hold off on social media for so long, and what made you sign up now?

VP: I have always been a quite private person, so if I hadn’t chosen to be an actor, I would likely never have chosen to display my life publicly on social media.

But with my life having taken this course, I now see it as a great way to connect with fans of the show and share some of my interests with them outside of “The Nevers.”

Sari: What are three things our readers should know about you?

VP: It’s tough to condense it down! I have a bit of an obsession with 19th-century French literature; I have the taste buds of an 80-year-old, so I love old-fashioned fruit cake and rum and raisin ice cream; Finally, I have two adorable dogs: a spaniel called Rupert and a greyhound called Mushy.

Sari: What would you say is your greatest strength, and what is your greatest challenge?

VP: I often struggle to trust myself that I’m doing a good job, but I think that faith in yourself comes with age and experience. Just by watching the rest of the cast, I have learned so much, so hopefully, the longer I’m on the show, the more I will improve.

Sari: Who is your inspiration?

VP: I can’t really say I have one inspiration. My granny has had the biggest influence on me and how I approach life. She was formidable and a force to be reckoned with, so I would be lucky if I could emulate even the smallest aspect of her.

Sari: How would you describe yourself and your passion for acting?

VP: I would describe myself as determined. I’m very focused when I am doing something I love, and of course, that goes for my acting. I think my curiosity for how everyone else experiences the same world drives my passion for acting and also my desire to push myself further creatively.

Sari: What do you see in store for your future?

VP: We are having some really exciting conversations behind the scenes that I can’t quite discuss yet, and of course, COVID has thrown a spanner in the works with a lot of scheduling, but I can say watch this space. I mainly want to just ensure in the future that I continue to be a part of projects I fully believe in and portray characters that are complex, well-rounded and that I feel I have something to bring to. I have no idea where I will be in 20 years. I think that this past year has shown that who knows what the future holds.

“I think back to the first time people at my high school started seeing my Vines,” Pons reflected in our interview. “I remember gaining my first hundred followers, and that felt so incredible. Then, in a blink of an eye, that number was one thousand and then one million, and I was blown away. Launching my YouTube channel was a huge step in my career, and I’m grateful to have enjoyed many more milestones as I expanded into music.”

Getting to work with an artist like him, someone that I’ve listened to and admired for a long time, was a special experience. We understood each other’s visions, and I, personally, feel like I learned a lot from him about making a song and being an artist throughout the entire process.

LP: I’d love to be a chef, even though I am TERRIBLE at cooking. I’m at my happiest when I’m putting smiles on people’s faces, and you can really express that with food. You can be really creative with your dishes and recipes and tell some amazing stories about your culture and your experience through food. People love to be happy and love food!

Sari: What is something that your fans don’t know about you that you could share?

Sari: Who is your number one role model and why?

LP: My mom is my number one role model. She’s so strong, caring, and wise. She inspires and teaches me something new every day, and I couldn’t be more thankful to have the relationship I do with her. If I can’t count my mom for this, then my next answer is Shakira. She’s inspired me so much throughout my life and career.

Sari: What’s been your proudest career moment so far?

Performing “Celoso” at the Latin American Music Awards was really special, and I can’t even begin to describe how amazing performing “Se Te Nota” with my favorite person [Guaynaa] was on the “Tonight Show.” I think that my docuseries, “The Secret Life of Lele Pons,” might be my proudest moment. It was scary opening up about something so personal, but I knew how important it was for me to do that. Hearing from so many people that my story inspired them and helped them feel seen was so incredible.

It means so much to me when someone tells me how my music or videos made them feel better or helped them get through a difficult time.

LP: This isn’t necessarily a fun fact about me, but I feel like I haven’t expressed how much all of the love and support from them has impacted my life, specifically over the last year. I opened up about some of my battles with mental health, and the response was overwhelming. Knowing how much my music and videos, and art mean to people gives me energy when I’m tired and brings me joy when there isn’t much around me. I can’t thank everyone enough. I try to respond and acknowledge as much fan content as I can, but just know that if I don’t, I probably saw it, and it means the world to me.

Sari: Is there a universal message that you want to get out to your fans?

LP: With everything going on in the world, it’s important to remember that you are doing great. We’re all going through a lot, and it’s not easy to handle it all, but make sure you find ways to treat yourself with love and kindness. And, to my fans, thank you for keeping my spirits high over the last year.

Sari: What are you working on now?

LP: My team and I have been working on a lot. We have a lot of great momentum right now, and I’m really focused on making more music. I have a cou116

Sari: What does being in love mean to you?

LP: It’s a beautiful feeling.

Love is supposed to be fun, in my opinion, and I think being in love means opening yourself to new opportunities for fun and peace.

Sari: Can you offer any love advice or relationship tips?

LP: So many problems can be avoided if you just communicate. Make sure to tell your partner how you’re feeling and check in with them to see how they’re doing. [Guaynaa and I] both have insane schedules, but it’s as simple as sending a quick text that says, “Hey, I’m going to be unavailable for a few hours. Let’s FaceTime later tonight.” It’s so important to communicate what your wants and needs are as they come up so that everyone is on the same page.

Sari: What is so powerful about a good photograph?

LP: There’s something beautiful about capturing a specific moment in time that you can’t ever really capture again. You’re freezing a moment in time forever and telling a story with it. You can feel emotions and history in a photo. What I think is even more amazing is how so many people can take something else away, how the story of the photo takes on a life of its own depending on the experiences of the person looking at it.

Sari: This shoot really embodies the spirit of romanticism.

What do you love most about that era?

Sari: What is your favorite thing about getting into character on a photoshoot?

LP: I love how important the details are. You get into this mindset, and you create a detailed backstory in your head, and then you have to apply it to every part of your body, down to what your fingers

and toes are doing. Your understanding of a character impacts how you’ll tilt your head and what emotions you’re sharing through your eyes. I enjoy the backand-forth with a photographer because their vision is bringing your character to life. It’s through their eyes that you can share this story with people.

Favorite holiday?

It might be cliche, but I really do love Christmas. I love the music, the lights, and being with family. There is just so much love and joy during that time.

Favorite subject in school?

History was my favorite subject because I love learning about our ancestors, and it gives me a much better understanding of the world we live in today.

I love having a bubble bath every night.

Favorite LA restaurant?

I love Catch. The food is delicious. I also want to show love to one of my best friends in the world, Anwar Jibawi, for recently opening up his restaurant Anwar’s Kitchen. It’s some of the best Middle Eastern food you’ll ever have!

Harry Potter! All of them!

Favorite color?

It has to be red. I feel so good when I’m wearing anything red and, of course, I love the feelings of love that the color represents.

This is tough! Lately, I’ve been playing a bunch of TikTok songs. I think I speak for all of us that there’s something really fun about being super dramatic by yourself in the car while you’re belting the words to “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo. She’s so talented.

I love all Latin music, especially reggaeton and pop.

I

n-person, Booboo is seemingly magic personified. His talents include acting, music, art, and photography. It’s pro­ bably not too shocking to learn that that’s just scratching the surface. Booboo’s versatility spans a long list of outlets and hobbies that channel not only his creativity but, ultimately, who he is at his core.

It’s a wonder to witness someone who fits into every genre, and every era yet stands out as one of a kind. Someone who curiously straddles style and time - that’s Booboo. He is a gem sparkling amidst a sea of Hollywood treasure. Sharing a moment with him is remarkable. When the feeling of a moment is captured in time with a photo, a story, a song, or a piece of art, it becomes something even more extraordinary.

As INLOVE gathered in Downtown, Los Angeles, to shoot Booboo’s co­ver, he sat by a window overlooking the city, quietly sketching. One of the first things that stand out about Booboo is his tattoos. He has admittedly lost count of how many he has but happily grinned as he mentioned that the number keeps going up. He reminisced about the first tattoo he ever got [a paw print in honor of his dog] and the ones on his forearm that kept making an appearance in all of our pictures. “Bite Me RANCH” [the name of his family’s ranch] next to a number - 14,179 - the height of the summit of the first mountain that he ever hiked.

Each piece of art had a story to tell. Booboo proudly dons them all, being the ultimate storyteller that he is.

The vibe on set was playful and collaborative. Conversation flowed from favorite moments in time to stories about family gatherings.

Age is just a number, according to him. Every year he doesn’t say he gets older; instead, he “levels up.”

He is very aware of the energy he puts into the day. “[Your energy] definitely affects yourself and people close to you, but it also affects people you’ll never meet,” Booboo tells INLOVE. “Putting good energy into the start of the day, and seeing where that takes you, is something I try to work on.”

On working with Kenny Ortega in “Julie and the Phantoms” Booboo Stewart: Working with Kenny is one of my favorite things to do. He’s someone I look up to. Whenever I’m around him, I just try to listen and learn.

On a “Descendants” reunion happening in some form BS: As far as the “Descendants” reunion, I’m not sure if there will ever be a live-action movie, but we have an animated piece coming out this summer.

On the “The Twilight Saga” and a possible reunion BS: I feel like every few months, I hear of some kind of “Twilight” reunion, but I have no idea if that will ever happen again. It was so incredible. The world of “Twilight” was so intense and exciting. I’m so happy to have those memories.

On “Paradise City” and his character Vic Lakota

He loves working with his hands. Workmanship is another art form to him.

BS: My character Vic Lakota, he’s a member of the band The Relentless. I like to think that he’s kind of like the glue of the band. Always getting stuck in the middle of arguments and drama and then resolving it.

BS: Being with Cameron on set was so much fun. A while ago, we made a stop-motion short movie together, and then during the filming of “Paradise City,” we finished all of the sounds for it while on a break.

On the musicians you were excited to meet thanks to “Paradise City” BS: I grew up listing to Andy [Biersack], and Ben [Bruce]’s bands. So when we initially did the movie “American Satan,” which is the film “Paradise City” follows, I was so excited to be working alongside them.

On the L.A. music scene BS: There’s just so much energy here in L.A. I love it.

I’m from here. It’s such a diverse and textured city. I think that’s why artists come here.

On his favorite glam rock artist BS: Glam rock, that’s hard. The band Poison. They define that phrase for me.

On the most “punk” thing he’s ever done in real life BS: I love street art, and maybe I throw a few pieces up, here and there around town.

On the latest with that band Honey BS: We’ve been writing and recording an EP. I’m not sure as of right now when it will be out, but we are extremely excited about what’s been happening in the studio.

On his love for creating BS: I love creating, making something from a blank canvas, adding some color and energy into the world.

I listen to music while I paint, every genre, sometimes interviews of people, things that get me inspired.

On how Cameron Boyce inspired him BS: Cameron is such an inspiration to me. When someone is good at something, they make it look easy, and Cameron made every single thing he ever did look easy. He could do anything. His ability to be at ease with any situation and to not overthink things is 128

something that he still inspires me with. But that list could go on and on.

On what he hopes to inspire within others BS: I hope that I can inspire people to create freely. To get out of their heads and to just create.

It’s something that I’m trying to get better at, too.

BS: Oh, I love coo‑ king so much. My girlfriend and I are always cooking. We’ve been into making our pasta.

Handmade pasta is so delicious.

On something he’s proud of that he has created this past year BS: Something I feel like maybe counts as a creation is balancing my days better. I’ve created, and I keep improving on my mindset. Creating better days of balance.

I’m very proud of that.

BS: There’s a saying I like. “To command others, first you must command yourself.” My Sensei says that. It helps me through harder times. I think you can apply that saying to any situation.

BS: Just the freedom from thoughts. I feel like when I’m painting, I go into a zone of deep focus.

It’s so nice to be in that place. That’s what I love.

On what he’s INLOVE with when it comes to creating

BS: I’m excited about a film we just shot called “Those Who Walk Away.” We filmed our movie in a series of really long takes without cutting. It’s an experimental horror film.

On the power of a good photograph BS: I think the power of a good photograph is the same for any piece of art that I think is “good,” and it’s that the piece inspires. If it can inspire, I think it’s a job well done.

On getting into character on a photoshoot

BS: For me, during photoshoots, I just try and be the “me” that isn’t afraid to look or be silly in front of people.

Taking down walls.

They say that a man’s character is his destiny. If you believe this to be true, then Booboo Stewart is fated to do amazing things in this world. After all, a character doesn’t build walls; it takes them down.
