Highlight Applied Science University is one of the leading private universities supporting practical learning and scientific research in Bahrain and the Gulf.

The university campus consists of 3 main buildings. The first building being the academic building consists of six floors and a ground floor featuring the front yard and entrance hall, the deanship of admissions and registration, cafes, lounges and a library.

Highlight OLD PALACE

Al-Qudaibiya Palace or Gudaibiya Palace is a palace in Gudaibiya, Manama, Bahrain.

Located off Bani Otbah Avenue and Al Fatih Highway, it lies west of the Al Fateh Grand Mosque and southwest of the Old Palace of Manama and the Andalus Garden. A major political function; the King’s cabinet usually meets every Sunday at the palace and Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has an office at the palace.

The Old Palace open courtyard flooring required precise installation skill set and was completed within two monthsv by BCON team.

Products supplied by Elames such as Crystal yellow, Polished and flamed black granite, Polished and flamed tan brown, Flamed hassan green, flamed crystal yellow and river stone pebbles.

Interior Design Highlight

“Maximizing space for multi level structure�

Location: Kuwait City, Al Asimah Governate, Kuwait Modern, spacious villa elegantly furnished to incorporate style and comfort in the space. The key feature of this villa is to incorporate an urban garden that is a part of the exterior and melds seamlessly with the internal garden.

Location: Gantous Architecture designed Casa ML, a family home located in Mexico City.

The walls impose a sculptural volume in steel, glass, stone and colored concrete, yet create the light and delicacy of that intense veil of efficiency and multi-level structure volume.

The single-family residential structure rises on three levels, upwards, to provide views of the city; however, spaces flow openly between a formal hall, the cozy family area and the glamor of the dramatic central staircase in full order.

Location: Margaret Thatcher’s London home Although

newly

refurbished,

the

Georgian-style

residence retains much of its 19th-century detailing.

Behind the handsome stucco façade, which includes a steel-lined bombproof door, the entrance hall features Hopton Wood flooring, the same type used in the Houses of Parliament. There’s also a formal dining room linked to a study. On the first level, the library boasts parquet flooring, soaring ceilings, a pair of Louis XVI fireplaces, and views of Chester Square. The master suite on the second level includes a large bedroom, dressing area, and bath. There are an additional four bedrooms and three baths on the third and fourth floors, easily accessible by a newly installed elevator.

The modern kitchen and family room are located in the rear mews house, where there’s also a rooftop terrace and a lower-level media room, bar, wine cellar, and gym.

Interior Design Highlight

Creative ceiling design

Location: BANQ RESTAURANT, BOSTON MADE BY: NADAAA ARCHITECTS Located in the old Penny Savings Bank, Banq Restaurant capitalizes on the spatial and functional peculiarities of the space as a ground for speculation and invention. Requiring maximum flexibility on the ground for the re-organization of seating arrangements, in contrast the ceiling is encumbered by the myriad of mechanical, structural, and acoustic limits inherited from the building.

Thus, the entire ceiling is covered by a wood-slatted system that encases and conceals the inherited systems, while offering a large canopy under which to dine. The wood slats are designed as a landscape, undulating in relation to the very equipment they conceal overhead, while encasing the columns in the main hall. The wine storage, in the middle of the hall, serves as another point of support for the ceiling, and acts as a monumental trunk, keeping the canopy aloft. Divided into two segments, the front area on Washington Street is programmed as a bar, while the larger hall behind serves as the dining area. An axial view from the street produces the proscenium from which to view the canopy while lateral views give hints of the structural and mechanical devices being concealed.

Jordan Road Restaurant & Bar Yunnan, China Architects: CAA Description of the architects. This is the marketing design of a whole chain of restaurants. The AAC team took over the whole process, from design to construction supervision. The idea originates from traditional Chinese elements, like a “woven of bamboo”, which have been combined with a Western structure in the form of “bow”.

Stunning Tang Palace Restaurant is wrapped in a Geometric Bamboo Skin

Beijing-based design firm FCJC used a limited pallet of bamboo to transform an ordinary space into a stunning contemporary restaurant. The interior of the Tang Palace is enclosed by a flowing grid of bamboo strands that bring the 9 meter-tall room down to human scale and conceal the private dining rooms hung above. Structural elements like concrete column and block walls are made light by the parametric lattice, which was gently sourced and fastidiously erected.

Graffiti Cafe, Varna, Bulgaria Designed by Studio MODE We built up the interior as natural continuation of the architecture. By functional design we separated the area into two zones: the front zone was incorporated into the exterior creating public space and feeling of console silhouette of the building; the rear zone was separated through floor and roof design that allowed reducing depth of space while keeping the panorama.

Ikibana Paral Restaurant, Barcelona, Spain

Architects: El Equipo Creativo Design Team: Mireia Gallego, Cristina Huguet, Lucas Echeveste Lacy The wooden element in our design comes with the spectacular ceiling designed as a forest of entwined branches, becoming one of the main protagonists of the space. The light crosses the ceiling projecting a warm tinkling of lights and shadows on every surface of the restaurant.

As a counterpoint to the wood, the vegetal or green element can be found inside the display windows, acting as a curtain that diffuses the light and the vision between the interior and the street.
