PRESIDENT’S COLUMN
from Ekbladet 03/22
by Ekbladet
I guess you can not get a better welcome back to Umeå than getting eggs slammed in your face - you rookies truly did not hold back during Amazing race nor in your beautiful speeches. Thank you. I bet almost all of you have seen me running around in my fairy wings and pink presidential band during the last weeks. And I believe that I speak for many of you when I say that the last weeks have been more than amazing. From the welcoming of you rookies in Tornet, to Toga parties, Capture the flag, Gasque, Pink party, the football tournaments and more - and yet, there is still more to come. Since I started studying here during covid, I experienced an covid approved inspark both as a rookie and last year as fadder. So this year’s Inspark has been a new experience for me too in many ways. I am beyond satisfied to see what we are able to accomplish when there are no restrictions. Our fall semester has also started, and I bet that many of you have had your first exam, and perhaps your first ever - congratulations! Studying at the university can sometimes be tricky: my best advice is to keep high attendance at lectures, try to get an overall picture of what the lecturer talks mostly about, read the course literature and study with others to broaden your knowledge and perspectives within the subject.

Fall semester is a very intensive period for HHUS: starting off with the eight week long inspark, followed by this year’s HHHS 25 years celebration, Trubbadurer, lots of events, the election of Board of 2023 and lots more.
I would like to end this column by wishing you all a continued pleasant fall semester with lots of joy, new friend making, memorable HHUS events, hard studying and coffee.
