Some may argue that a pub is just a pub. That it’s a place where you buy beer and chat with your friends. This argument is, however, wrong. At least when talking about E-Puben.

A pub is not just a pub, our pub is much more than just a building with beer.

You are currently studying at Umeå University, and the reasons to why you are here can be many. Maybe it was convenient, maybe you’ve always dreamt about studying here, or maybe you found a suitable economics education while browsing antagning.se. The reason to why you are here does not matter in the broader sense of things, what matters is that you are here. You are here, your home for the foreseeable future. It’s an easy thing to say – it’s easy to call Umeå and USBE your home. It can however be much harder to make it feel like home. This is where E-Puben comes in

and plays a big role in your time here.

Our EPP is a popular event, the queue is often long. Looking for a way to skip the queue and get to the party faster? Come work with us! You get points for every shift you take; points you can use to skip the queue. E-Puben is run for students, by students. Working with us is not some selfish act to get into the pub faster next Friday, it’s doing your fellow students a big favor. It’s being a part of the E-Puben family and being part of something great. Working at the pub may sound scary – I mean, what does it actually mean? It can sound nerve-racking, but it really isn’t. You pour beer, mix drinks, flip burgers, clean at the end of the night, and get to hang out behind the bar with a bunch of amazing people. Did you know that the real party is actually behind the bar?

Friday comes. Your lecture ends and the weekend is finally here. Don’t just go home to your small dorm room – E-Puben opens at 15! It’s a tradition seldom broken, our doors open every Friday to give you a welcome break from your studies.

The Pub Committee runs the pub, and it’s our job

to act as evening managers at each event. We have a lot of experience in teaching new volunteers how to do the job – in other words: You don’t need any prior experience to work with us. Never poured a beer? No problem – we’re happy to show you!

E-Puben is not just another pub. It’s not only a place to get beer and chat with your friends. E-Puben is a sanctuary, a meeting place, a break from books and essays.

E-Puben is traditions such as Troubadour night, EPP, ETP, båten and Pripps. Our doors are open for every student, this is the place to hang out with your friends, and a place to make new friends.

E-puben is a community, it’s your home away from home. So, don’t be shy – visit us. Come work with us! We promise you won’t regret it.
