Every Home for Christ International is spearheading a disaster relief effort and we would like EHC in Australia and New Zealand to share in this compassionate assistance program, working through partners on the ground. For this specific situation, we are supporting their efforts to provide food, water, medicine, blankets, clothing, etc. to the victims of this earthquake disaster.

Jesus changes everything.
There is an immediate impact when a community encounters Jesus. We’ve heard countless stories of villages, neighbourhoods, and cities that are changed when the people within them turn to God.
The Gospel is for everyone.
So many are feeling isolated, alone, and forgotten. It’s amazing to see the personal transformation that happens in a life when a person experiences the truth and love of Jesus. “Jesus loves me. He died for me. It doesn’t matter who I am or where I live. It doesn’t matter the success I’ve had or crippling mistakes I’ve made. God has saved a seat for me in Heaven. All I have to do is turn to Him and accept.”

We work, we serve, we share and we pray because we don’t want anyone to miss a chance to know the Saviour. When we pray for others and share the message of the Gospel, it saves people and ignites our own faith.

Mr. Zireva suffered a stroke 8 years ago. We reached out to him and his family and he gave his life to Christ last month. We visited him and, during one of our follow-up sessions, he was testifying of the goodness of the Lord in his life. He stated that he was thankful to the Every Home for Christ team for being used by the Lord and reaching out to his family, for he has been feeling encouraged ever since he gave his life to Jesus. The tracts in particular “Help From Above” and “Who Am I?” have been helpful in reminding him of the truth and the love of Jesus Christ.

Two years ago, my sisters and I from our church attended EHC evangelisation training. Then we travelled to people we knew and told them about Jesus Christ. On a visit to a girl named Anna, we went in, got acquainted, and began to tell her about the love of God, that Jesus has freedom for her and victory over sin. Then she just smiled, considering us strange people. We left, time passed. The sin of alcoholism gradually destroyed Anna’s life; she completely lost her loved ones and all her friends and found herself on the verge of complete disappointment, loneliness and pain. Then she remembered those “strange” people who came to her two years ago who talked about salvation, about deliverance and a new life. She remembered about the booklet, found it and called the church phone number on the booklet. The Pastor met with her, prayed with her and invited her to church, where she met the living Jesus Christ who actually gave her freedom. Now Anya herself, having Jesus in her heart and a new life, distributes these booklets to mailboxes in the hope that someone else’s life will be changed by Jesus.

Jean Marie Bigirmana is 49 years old. His job is farming. He is a father of ten children and he was always fearful because of his sinful life. Jean-Marie used to deny the name of Jesus; I mean, all his children and wife could not say the name of Jesus in his house and he was dedicated to drinking alcohol too much. After encountering the truth from our evangelism to his home, his heart was completely transformed and changed. He is very thankful to Jesus-Christ for having transformed his heart and thankful to his wife for showing and demonstrating to him the love of Jesus. He feels happy for being evangelised and now he is no longer a drunkard. He even abandoned going to the sorcerer. He has believed the truth about Jesus from the word of God. Jean-Marie now says “I want to remain in the way of salvation and I beg your prayer for me. May God enable me to fulfill my vocation of seeking the lost sheep in evangelising people wherever I can and reaching their homes with the Good News about Jesus. I will never cease praying for the Every Home for Christ ministry.
HERE ARE A FEW PRINCIPLES TO HELP YOU AS YOU PRAY FOR GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE:
Pray for Shalom.
Jerusalem means “city of peace” and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem is to pray that the city of God and her people would experience wholeness, safety, health, tranquility, prosperity and fullness—in a word, Shalom.
Remember: When you pray for the peace of Jerusalem, you’re praying for wholeness and fullness for God’s covenant land and her people.
Seek Israel’s good.
Verse 9 of Psalm 22 is as important as verse 6: “For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.”
To truly pray for the peace of Jerusalem is also to purposefully seek the good of that holy city. As you pray, you are a watchman on the walls of Jerusalem—a waiting warrior who does not rest until God fulfills His promise to establish Jerusalem as a praise in the earth (see Isaiah 62:6-7).
Receive the blessing.
When you pair your prayers with action, be encouraged that your intercession for Israel comes with a promise: “‘May they prosper who love you.’” In other words, as God Almighty swore elsewhere, those who bless Israel will be blessed (Genesis 12:3)!
As those who have benefited spiritually by the Jewish people, we have a unique calling and opportunity to demonstrate our gratitude (Romans 15:27) so that the Messiah would be known. Your prayer and support makes Israel more secure and her people safer!
May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose eye is always upon Israel, prosper you as you pray for the peace of Jerusalem and seek her good.
